Can it be done? Only for a 3-5 nights, one or two nights at a time with accommodation in between, and will be staying withing a few mins walk of vehicle in case escape become necessary.
Tent: Force 10 Vortex 300
Bag: Rab Neutrino 800
Sleeping mat: Thermarest Neoair Xtherm Max
(plus a cheap self inflating mat for extra insulation, a wool blanket, full body hooded merino thermal and full body fleece thermal too. Of course with gloves, socks and hat.
Not to mention lots of more than sufficient cold weather clothing for when
Intuitively with the above kit and by staying within easy walking distance of a vehicle with heating and fuel I am confident that it will be totally fine, but some of the forums in which the topic has been discussed have been dissuasive.
What do you guys reckon? Cheers

Pretty sure camping in Iceland isn't an issue.

I don't see why not. They have an ocean moderated climate so it's not as cold as you'd think for the latitude.

You're practically car camping, you'll be fine.
If you're really worried, keep a mylar by your bedside in case hypo creeps up on you somehow. Like if you sweat under all that.

Don't listen to the brave ones, I'd say that's a pretty good plan.
Only try >>884450 after trying it on easy mode, unless you are some sort of a cold weather survival expert, which I suppose you aren't.
