Looking for an inexpensive folding blade.
>>882600
Opinel
>>882600
CRKT
Kershaw
Some cold steels
Some Ontarios
Some spydercos
Gerber if you have no self respect or soul.
>>882604
Something flat please.
I am already considering an Opinel for other purposes.
>>882605
My last job gave me a 50% discount on CRKT, and Kershaw, but only 2 weeks out of the year, and I got laid off before that time came. I'm quite upset, and I cant see myself paying full price.
Looking at the other two brands, seem to both go for $40+
I am honestly looking for something $20 or under, I abuse the hell out of my blade at work, and I dont want to carry something that nice on me.
>>882607
SVORD a good company? Looks like they make the cheapest carbon blade knife, I think these would last better than SS for my line of work.
fucking hell, I'm just gonna buy this thing here
http://www.ebay.com/itm/SR0123-EDC-Folding-knife-with-Money-Clip-S-Steel-4-Keychain-Stone-Wash-Black-/261883194191?hash=item3cf9746b4f:g:NYwAAOSwPgxVT4Xg
like 3 of them, I can keep one in all my work pants so I never forget it.
>>882611
sorry for same fagging hard, but http://stores.ebay.com/edcgears/ has a lot of decent shit super cheap. I think im gonna buy $30 worth of crap or so, see how they perform, and if I like it, and it breaks, buy a better version of it elsewhere.
I mean $4 shipped for a fucking knife, what can go wrong?
Japan guy from last thread here.
So, I've bought myself a Schrade F26 for the trip.
>It's cheap enough to try ($30)
>Reviews are great
>1/4" blade thickness
>chopping blade
>within the legal limit
Did I do well?
>>882607
Just buy a Ganzo off gearbest.
>>882622
>Schrade
They're great knives
I have 36 and 37 survivals
They and Condor Bushcraft are my /out/ knives
>>882622
1/4'' thick blades are way overrated - 1/8'' thick with good quality steel (O1, A2, 3V, etc.) is very durable, and slices much better.
>>882600
Ontario RAT 1 & 2
There are tons of Kershaws too if you don't like the RAT. Also Byrd, Spyderco's budget brand.
Opinel if you want carbon steel.
And get a ferro rod. You can start fires and sharpen the knoife at the same time!
>>882609
Yeah the L6 Svord uses is a great steel
are people so freaking lazy they cannot take 5 seconds to even look for knife threads, good lord
>>873949
Randall made or GTFO
Condor T&K
Or
Ontario?
Which is better for the outists?
Neither?
>>882663
You are an idiot.
>>883218
Condor 4 me. Sheaths are far superior.
I only have 5. The Stratos is my new one. Love it.
>>883227
Your*
>>882622
>too thick
>recurve
>guard
>hollow (?) grind with secondary bevel
6/10 doesn't look like a bad blade but not what I would have bought.
>>883239
Yeah bout sums it up for me also
>>882622
> not buying Japo steel in Japoland
Dude, wtf?
anybody have this knife?
i was wondering how it does
if you like it or not.
>>884370
Pretty solid knife. Never hear any real complaints...When I do, it's mostly about how they don't like the grind, would prefer some thing else, like a convex grind.
>>883218
I like them both. If you are trying to be budget friendly, I'd go with condor for that. The leather sheaths that come with the knives are pretty damn nice.
I carry not mine, pic related. The Condor Hudson bay. Hell of a knife, I got it for only 45 dollars. Sheath alone is worth that almost.
>>884370
google Ray Mears Woodlore - any variation of the design that is reasonably well made will be solid enough.
>>883218
Both are fine brands
It depends on what type of knife you want here
Condor has a lot more variety, so they might have something Ontario doesn't have
tried to force a patina on my opinel no.5
turned out allright, not full coverage but its my first time.
>>885092
Typical millenials. Too impatient for anything. I don't even want to think about the wines and bourbons you drink.
>>885102
Only drink blanco tequila, because screw waiting 12 years for something to mature. You know what ai mean? Otherwise I would just sniff petrol.
By the way, how old is your daughter?
>>885111
My *son* is 21
>>885119
Your child probably would have taken less dicks if it were a girl.
*proud dad*
Is there a way to test my knives' blades? I've hit them all against a pine fence board about 30 times and they still cut paper.
>>885469
Cut abrasive material, like cardboard, then see if you can cut paper with it, and how slowly (the slower the cut, the better)
>>885482
They can all cut through cardboard and cut paper after. One 8cr13mov, one cpm s30v, one zdp 189. By hitting them against the fence board I mean slashing against it and taking out chunks of it. Thought that would do more than cardboard.
