So there is a small island on a river by my house, the island is probably about .5 square miles in total area or so. I've visited it a bunch of times on my canoe.
This weekend I'm going to stay there overnight with some friends, and I want to see what kind of wildlife I can identify there. So far I've seen some birds there, but other than that nothing.
I've never tracked animals before, so I have no clue what to look for. Also not expecting to see anything other than squirrels or other small varmints.
Any tips?

Not too concerned, I've stayed there before and it was surprisingly unspooky.

Bring a camera, take pics, post OC.
Find out what's local and research footprints and what everything eats to id its shit
Found this thing.. pretty spooky

Pic related.
Know your shit so you don't get eaten. Some animals will swim over to the island, others would need a major reason.
Probably won't find a cat, but a bear would do the swim without thinking twice.

Look up what animals are in your area and see what their tracks look like.
