Well, primarily seasonings in my circumstance. I've tried looking for a multi-season holder for my own custom blends; something modular I can easily reuse. Haven't been able to find one unfortunately, so I'm considering just some tiny glass vials instead and pack them away in one of the many small cases I have. Unless someone here can give me a good alternative, or provide what they carry their seasonings in.

I'd say go with some small mason jars. Not the ones with the latch, but the ones with the screw on top. Probably too big for what you want, but it's a good seal.
>>877290
Why don't you look for something like this?
https://www.amazon.com/Moyishi-Clear-Silver-Aluminum-aluminum/dp/B00MDBZ266/ref=sr_1_3_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1476668499&sr=8-3&keywords=metal+jar
A container like this could be found in all sorts of places. Just take a sharpie and write the seasoning name on the lid.
I don't know if I'd even bother with glass vials desu senpai.
>>877302
A 4oz mason jar is good for pre-mixed seasonings, or if you want to prep seasonings in bulk.
Can I ask whats wrong with the jars with the latch tops? I got a couple of these style in about 3oz size from a local place. They seem to do the job well enough. For $1 each if the seals go bad in 5 years I won't feel bad about tossing them.
>>877290
For home use or camping?
If camping then backpack or vehicle?
>>877307
Weight, primarily. I'm not opposed to mason jars, in fact they're very favorable to me. But they would weigh heavier than just a few little vials, and I could keep more on hand for different seasonings than lugging around multiple jars.
>>877311
Both, multi-purpose. More overnight hikes than camping however.
>>877290
>go buy the smallest container of paprika or garlic powder or whatever
>use it at home for your cooking
>when used up, wash empty container
>fill with your special seasoning mix
You're overthinking this all
If you want to carry multiple spices in small amounts, go to your local hood corner store and get the drug dealer bags. You can get the tiny nickel bags for single use stuff or even go with the larger gram bags depending on your needs. They are cheap as hell and when they are empty you can just toss them in the river when you're taking a piss.
Along those lines, they sell tiny glass vials that some people put ten bags in too. Never seen those at the corner store but I'm sure you can find them online. They are just big enough for like 100mg of whatever. Maybe search for "cologne sample jars" or something.

I use glass canning jars and a vacuum sealer. The vacuum sealer adapter fits on the jars (small mouth and wide mouth versions) and the hose can fit in any vacuum sealer model or brake bleeder for vehicles. I have both, but normally use the brake bleeder with small batches.
Here's a pic about how I modified a brake bleeder to work better. I can go as much as 25inHg with it, but aim for about 23inHg instead. That way I know it is 20inHg or more when I pull the tube off. Google "brake bleeder vacuum sealing".

Here's the thing, you can put many small packages of mixes into a single mason jar and still seal it up. You don't have to buy a bunch of tiny mason jars. The containers you use inside the mason jars can be anything, plastic vials, small envelopes you made, etc. Just make sure they can breath so they don't pop when you vacuum seal it after each opening. Toss in a packet of silica gel and you have a near perfect system for being completely water proof and long lasting.

Oh and if you do get a jar sealing kit like that, wet the rubber gasket just a little bit and starting the suction will be far easier. Leave a ring on the lid and it'll never have sealing issues in storage. With the ring on the lid you also don't have to warm up the lids to get a proper seal. The ring's pressure will hold it.

The cap is a standard soda bottle cap ('coz these things turn into soda bottles when inflated inside a mold).

These bottle blanks are pretty cheap, very strong, waterproof, easy to pack, and hold all you need.

>the drug dealer bags.
Pill bags are available from Walmart for a couple bucks for hundreds of baggies. They're just very small ziplocks, with a side that you can write with a marker on.
Surprisingly perhaps to you, they have legitimate uses.
>>877313
Look for metal pill containers they are light and airtight.
>>877330
how personal are we talking? If you want tiny amounts like for 1 person, 1 small meal, you can go buy a bag of 1.5 mL microcentrifuge tubes.
GSI Spice Missle.
You're welcome.
>>877290
If you take medication, a pill bottle would work just fine. Just be sure to rip off the labels and stuff.
>>877925
I use this method when I want to carry just a little spice on a camping trip or something, but for preservation I keep my spices in glass mason jars.
>>877929
Oh you like the glass mason jars eh?
> not buying pic related for pennies each
God, why is /out/ filled with dumb nigger posers?

You have to be some kind of pracing homo if you need anything more than free salt or pepper from a fast food place!
I went a month on nothing but Tang, water, peanut butter and salt.
Throw in the occasional shoplifted potato or can of SPAM and that was a banquet!
You redickless fags want to cook like homos thats your fucked up gayass damage!
>>879184
Did that sound better in your head? Because it's reading like you're a cunt who can't cook.

I use glass vials i get from my research lab
>>877290
well maybe I'm missing something but what about these things?
>>879315
I mean it's easily obtainable, it's light, it's compact, it should be pretty easy to pack several together, holds a decent amount of spice, and it won't shatter into shards, you can easily see what's inside.
>>877309
The latches can come open in your pack, otherwise they're fine.
