I accidentally crossed last week one of those while out and now I'm astonished. Do you have any experience with them? Are they similar to American meme trails?
>>
Yes except they are generally paved and currently full of Merkels children
>>
yeah, eurofag here
In France, GR trails are nice
Mix of State parc, local parc, forest and field
A little town every 15 km and no designated campsite. It's not widerness but it's nice and easy. May & June are sweet.

I have some experience, but mostly from sweden.

Swedish hiking trails are the best ones i've ever walked. I've hiked a little bit in Switzerland and Italy as well, but the trails are much more crowded further south in europe. I hiked a swiss trail on mountain ridges about 80 kilometers a few years ago, and every five minutes I passed some random stranger who(in terribly accented english), asked me for directions.

Just this summer I hiked 425 kilometers on the King's Trail in sweden, and I saw maybe 10 people during the whole four weeks. Amazing calm, solitude, and scenery that would've given Peter Jackson the orgasm of his life.

If there are any americans who long for hiking in europe, I strongly recommend the Swedish north as a destination.

Wtf I love Sweden now.

>>876635
I have hiked a fair bit in Spain in the Camino de Santiago, and I can say that there's pretty nice trails there. Just be ready to come across hundreds of people.

shit, forgot pic

This is one of the areas the trail went through
>>

Wouldn't everything cost 5 times as much there plus a $1000 plane ticket? Seems kind of pointless when we have better trails plus who wants to finance Sweden's rape culture

> we have better trails
Yeah sure, ''''''''better'''''''' trails.

> finance Sweden's rape culture
Is this a meme from /pol/?
>>
>>876982

>better trails

It's obvious. you hiked hundreds of miles and saw no one. Even in a crowded shithole like europe, no one wants to go on your barren wasteland
>>
>>876982

Sorry m8 it's just not safe to visit Sweden

>Sweden now has the second highest number of rapes in the world, after South Africa, which at 53.2 per 100,000. Statistics now suggest that 1 out of every 4 Swedish women comes out to be the victim of rape. If you look at the number of rapes, however, the increase is even worse. In 1975, there were only 421 rapes reported to the police – in 2014, it was 6,620. That is an increase of 1,472%. It would seem Sweden is a much more dangerous place for women in the world.
>>
>>876982
>meme from /pol/
Yes, but it's legit fact that Sweden is the rape capital of Europe.
>>
>>877032
Because they're massive fags who gave a broader interpretation to what is rape and what is not. And also due mostly to fucking kebabs, the Swedes are not the ones raping. But, tbf, I don't think you have more possibilities of being raped there than in France or US for example.
To finish, americabs talking shit about Sweden is so fucking retarded that I actually cringe, a country that is only 60% white, has a terrorist movement killing cops, burning towns, and kicking whites, has gang wars, drive by shootings, a murder rate over 4/100k and so on and so forth has no moral to talk at anyone. Maybe at some afrian and south american shithole.

Don't even bother to answer, retards memed this thread into /pol/ and thread is lost. Good job.

I'm not sure if retarded or bait. He was talking about sweden, where is average density about 24. For example in states it's 20. The main reason also would be that us trails are like fucking disneyland in woods. You have artificial watering stations and stores specialised on hikers along the trails. Literally every fucking pussy can go out there without preparation.
>>
>>876635
My home country (the Netherlands) doesn't allow you to set up camp in the wilderness. What about other countries? What's the point of long distance paths if you're still forced to seek out civilization for the night?
>>
>>877093
OP here. In czech republic you can camp, but you can't build a tent. So tarp or bivy.
>>
>>877065
Kebabs are swedes now friendo, don't be racist
>>
>>877073

So why don't euros go to Sweden instead of non stop complaining about lack of /out/ opportunities? There has to be a reason
>>
>>876635
Did the GR11 and parts of Europa High Altitude Trail 2

>>876982
I agree with you on the trails part, but yeah face it, Sweden's gov encourages a rape culture.

>>876999
>you hiked hundreds of miles and saw no one. Even in a crowded shithole like europe, no one wants to go on your barren wasteland

The best trails in the world are quite untraveled. That's because they are too difficult for the average hiker.

>To finish, americabs talking shit about Sweden is so fucking retarded

>he uses "no you" as an argument :/ (Euro here).

>>877169
My guess would be that they are complaining about lack of /out/ opportunities within a few hours driving distance.
Sweden is pretty expensive. Most of the people who actually go /out/ prefer going to Poland, Romania, Georgia which require similar travel.
Or further away to South America, Nepal, Central Asia and so on...
>>
As an ausfag who did the northern part of the kungsleden, it's absolutely worth while. Maybe cause it's so different from my usual temperate/ tropical hikes. Ignoring all the /pol/ bullshit, close mindedness and fear mongering. I notice people just flat out cross out Sweden as a /out/ spot cause you assume it will be expensive. However they don't realise you really don't need to spend much to cook your own food from your own country and camp. Freedom to roam is a seriously wonderful thing and everyone should take advantage of it. I still meet a few Dutch, French and a Italian with an inflatable kayak on the train there wanting to enjoy /out/.

But they go. Talk about hiking in europe and sweden will be mentioned.

>>876860
No man, that's the padjelantaleden just past the Njunjes cabin. It's an even better trail than the Kungsleden

Like mount everest, pic related

>>877670
Yes, but here you don't have 15 sherpas, that will take care of you.
>>
>>877169
They do ? I have everything I want in France /out/ wise with several different mountain ranges, climates, fuck tons of different landscapes, the Altantic and the Med...
No need to be 500 miles away from any sign of civilization like in Siberia to have a good time in nature, besides I don't mind encountering a qt 1000 y.o village on my trail now and then
