Is there anything interesting to do in this state?
Pretty much a fisherman's paradise. Also lots of ATV trails. 2 large National Forests. Perfect /out/ state.
>>875250
On two peninsulas surrounded by the largest collection of freshwater in the western hemisphere, and arguably the world.
No. Not a damn thing. Sorry bro.
>>875250
Flee to canada.
>>875250
why didn't Wisconsin get that top piece?
>>875250
>Is there anything interesting to do in this state?
I've heard that there's a 142.87 sq mi nature reserve/historical site just a long the border. Just be aware, it's dangerous out there, so better bring a rife or two. Even a revolver or two would be nice.
>>876449
>why didn't Wisconsin get that top piece?
I think it was compensation for not getting Toledo. Note the weird Southern border.
>>875250
Lots of abandoned places and buildings around the whole state.
You can golf across Detroit.

>>875250

>>876658
awesum
>>877646
what he meant is that there's no space for you, faggot.
As awesome as it is, michigan is just too damn flat
>>875250
Go urban exploring if you don't like all the fun shit that >>875253 listed. I hope you're being ironic
>>875253
>and arguably the world.
There's nothing arguable about that. The Great Lakes are the largest source of fresh water in the world. The next biggest competitor is Lake Baikal.
>>877690
Flatness is to be appreciated sometimes. There are some nice hills in the UP like the Porcupine and Huron Mountain, plus the Keweenaw Peninsula is absolutely breathtaking
>>876537
Correct. At the time the federal government didn't think the UP mattered, and Wisconsin was barely a territory, so Toledo went to Ohio and the UP to MI.
>>877998
Yeah but they're 5 different lakes
>>878268
And only one matters
>>878274
Yeah unless you actually want to go in the water
>>875250
You could go to Detroit, buy some drugs, drive to the upper peninsula, and do lines of coke with fat chix innawoods
>>878291
Are you trying to say this isn't a good time? Fat chicks are the best.
>>875250
Your mother.
>>878291
Clearly you aren't in the up.... They have drugs for days
>>875250
An action packed trip to Detroit
>>878803
Kek
>>875250
Porcupine mts and Pigeon River country are personal favs.
>>875250
I've always wondered what the hell goes on up here?
is it totally abandoned?
>>878888 (checked)
>is it totally abandoned?
We're full, go someplace else.
Pictured rocks is a pretty decent hike. 42 miles of cool shit.
>>878888
Finns being finns.
>>878888
we don't talk about that anymore
>>878888
Meth for days
>>878888
Honestly? Mostly privileged teenagers on their 4 wheelers visiting their Grandparents and millennial hikers thinking they are "survivalists" because they're building natural shelters 2 miles from a road.
There's the Hoist Lakes area, which is 10,600 acres of gorgeous old growth forest!
The Manistee river is beautiful as well. There's also the Shore to Shore trail, which runs from Lake Huron to Lake Michigan.
>>878285
Just go in ya pussy. hop in the saww-nah after if you can't take it
>>875250
kys?
I honestly cannot think of a better /out/ state that doesn't contain a mountain chain.
>>875250
Is that a real state? I thought states where all connected by land. Even the islands are part of the single state? Weird shit, kid.
>>879872
Best /out/ state east of the Mississippi.
>>879872
>>881391
You guys have obviously never been to Maine
Ann Arbor fag here. There's not a ton to do down south, but the further north you go in the state, the more "remote" it gets. The dunes all up the northern west coast are amazing. In the UP, it's pretty much coniferous as far as the eye can see. Hiawatha National Forest is pretty awesome. Just got back from a trip to see Pictured Rocks near Munising and Tahquamenon Falls. They were both very cool.
Not the best state for /out/ing, but there are some pretty nice views.
>>881523
I don't know what you're on about. The eastern part of the UP has more conifers than the western part but the vast majority of the UP is northern hardwoods and pulp trees like birch and aspen.
>>878888
MTU student from Wisconsin here. Honestly Houghton and all the smaller towns up to Copper Harbor are some of the comfiest places I know. The businesses, /out/ scenery, and people are just great.
Nothing but annoying libtard shenanigans where I am (Ann Arbor area). As others have said there's a number of crumbling blue collar towns with great urbex opportunities in the southern half of the LP, and huge forests as you get further north.
>>881523
hey i took that pitcher!
>>876537
We actually fought a war with OH that resulted in the UP being a part of MI: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toledo_War, which worked out well, da yoop produced shloads of iron and copper ore
As anon said, nearly 2/3 of the state is either state or national park surrounded by the Great Lakes with pristine islands, loads of rivers and streams teaming with salmon and trout... It's a terrible, horrible wasteland of a state. Best advice: stay away.
>>877998
What about the giant water tables in the midwest?
>>881946
My nigga. Dad went to Tech (Chem E), I was born in Houghton. Keweenaw is one of the most beautiful and comfy places in the MW.
I was in Sylvania Wilderness over the weekend. Beautiful scenery, secluded, great hiking.
>>878803
I've been meaning to do that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Challenge for years.
>>882276
This photo makes me envy those spacious forests. What states have wide open spaces in the forests like that?
> Fat chicks are the best.
In some situations they certainly are awesome. But try hiking any distance with them and they start bit ching and whining. Fatties are better for taking car camping and just taking it easy with some booze and blow jobs and sloppy dirty gross sex in the tent at night.
>>877963
Did you go into the building?
I always look at that collapsed tower laying on the side of the walls when I'm getting on I-94, I want to go in there and probably find the hobo king of Detroit
>>876537
>142.87 sq mi nature reserve along the border
haha. yeah its pretty wild
>>881523
just moved here. any cool shit to check out nearby?
>>882323
Michigan.....
>>882323
Pennsylvania, Virginia, Arkansas (interestingly enough).
>>875250
>not moving out of state asap
Michigan a shit. If you're gonna do anything you might as well kys
