Years ago I made a basic plan for fun. Basically my family and my buddies family would group up, pack a couple vans with supplies like water, food, medicine ect and head up to his cabin.

Hopefully get to my rich gay uncles cabin up in Virginia. Only the best 4x4 can climb the road to get to it, no way in hell a walker can climb the terrain there. Problem is getting there, if I leave when everyone else leaves to wherever, I get stuck in traffic and have to leave my car like everyone else, and die shortly after. My dad has a boat, we could load that with supplies and wait out the outbreak on the water

i prepare for things that are actually likely to happen, like a hurricane or bad storm. a zombie apocalypse is very unlikely so it's not worth my time.

The zombies themselves are a minor issue, and actually represent communist invasion (remember - Romero's Night of the Living Dead was in 1968 - at the height of the cold war).

It's just hillarious how the "zombie preppers" focus almost entirely on the zombies and zombie defense, with maybe a passing thought given to basic supplies like food and water.
However, in the interest of discussion, here is a foolproof plan in the event of pic related:

my plan is to stay in my apartments until the vast majority of humans are dead and the vast majority of zombies are killed or eaten by their fellow zombies. strong door no accessible windows, have reserves for a couple of weeks.
