Thoughts on tactical bags for overnight hiking?
Anyone know where I should look here in nz for a pack like op's/maxpedition? Looking for a comfy, durable, earthtone pack in the 20-35L range with attachment point galore ideally. Everything seems to be larger and geared towards hiking (what I have now) or those neon daypack backpack types.

More like...
>a whole bunch of molle for expanded storage
>>870668
Mil-Surp online stores
>>870679
how about get a pack that can fit everything inside. Literally no reason to have other fucking bags attached to the outside.
>>870694
> ignoring modular tactical deployment operational operations
How can I do I even know you?
>>870694
>everything
No one pack can fit "everything". You switch out your gear as needed, and molle makes that easier. Instead of changing your entire load out, you change a modular pack which attaches to the molle. Core essentials inside the pack, situational gear attached on the outside.

Nice bait
>>870694
False... Completely false. I have 3 "mini" packs on the sides one is for my ready to use gear, ie snacks or my knife if I am being lazy etc, one is for my First aid kit to into incase of a accident. Has a bright + on it for easy ID and the other is for any random stuff I gather, cool rocks, sap for fires, whatever really. Granted yes I could put it all inside with ease (lots of room left) but why would I want too? My pack isn't bulky or anything like that.
Pretty interested in this. Haven't seen anyone suggest a good bag like this yet but really hope someone would.

Maxpedition Pygmy II.
You're welcome.

What else you got?
You got spork?
>>870694
You're speaking to overweight faggots that hike 5/10 miles at most. It's just a different reality that they can't understand. Don't even waste your time, anon.
>>870694
You don't stick things like your sleeping pad in your pack do you? It's waste.
>>870780
sure I do, look how small it is. If you people didn't get gear from walmart, you could easily fit everything inside.
>>870778
>5/10
Is that 5 to 10 miles you are degrading orfive tenths of a mile?
Because your insult is a little vauge. If you really want to troll, you need to be specific.
>0/10
>>870645
Their ruck is effayy as fuck.
>>870645
tactical bags are fine. what you posdted is a technical bag. meant to be stored untill needed. most medic bags look like that, since most of the time medics stay with the guntrucks, unless you are a light unit.
the bag you posted is fucking great for finding the correct syringe quickly, but not for packing extra undies.
I still have my alice pack, and a crap ton of soft packs I got or bought in the army. I use my rush72 all the time, and my alice.
I really only take my real backpacking pack on 4+ day hikes.

You can see the model has a retard half smile. Kek.
>>870793
Wut U don't hike with pointless weight and carry needlessly overbuilt things that often times perform worse than their well designed and thought out counterparts? You don't have apocalyptic fantasies of running around with your shit AR build and shemag in the woods? FUCK YOU.

Oily skin is good for aging. See also: Black people.
>>870694
This here. I wonder why you never see people hike with them and am forced to asume they are unpractical for the serious outdoorsmen.
>>870778
That as well.
does anyone have any recs for ILBE replacement shoulder straps and hip belts? surely there must be some generic/civilian product that fits the design specs and is a good substitute to shitty used surplus straps/belts.
love mine
call me a faggot if you want but molle is

What can I say, memes write themselves. The only thing missing is an overweight neckbeard standing right there. Lmao.

>glock knife
cheap and good

got it literally for the meme
waiting on better patches right now

>neckbeard
not me. im a cute boy.
>>870730
That's the backpack I use, it's a pretty good pack.
>>871080
fair enough mate. actually I'm just having a piss because I don't get triggered by molle or more military looking backpacks, the only thing that boils my blood is the velcro section that ruins most of them for me. For example I would buy this one if it did not had fucking velcro.
>>871085
whats up with the velcro though?
even if you dont wana put patches on it it doesnt really take away from the bag at all.
>>871069
is the shemag inside the bag? WHERE IS IT
>>871085
you could always use a seam ripper/carefully use a knife to remove it. if the fabric is tough you shouldn't have to worry about it fucking up much. If you buy a shitty bag tho your results may vary.
>>871095
i just have my russian balaclava incase i need to shoot up any schools quickly

No I stick it in its pouch then tie it to the molle.
My tent doesn't pack down really well either so I do the same thing with it.
>>870712
>Granted yes I could put it all inside with ease (lots of room left) but why would I want too?
All those straps and bags are costing you a lot of extra weight you tacticool retard. Sure it "works for you" but it's objectively a bad idea
I swear if half this board actually did /out/ stuff and saw other people innawoods they would realize how retarded they are

lol not same dude, but doesn't the fact that there are many small sleeping pads like that prove the point he was making?

Thru hikes actually
Why shouldn't I get a 5.11 rush 12?
I already have a 60L pack for longer trips. Need something for minimal overnighters
>>870780
>do you?
...only amerifatians need xxxl-slepping mats.
>>872480
I have the rush 12, 24 and their push pack (Push pack is their man purse)
It's a good bag, they put so much damn material into them, they're a lil heavier than other packs the same size.
5.11 did have some issues with CQ a few yrs ago...Horrible stitching, bottom of bags just blowing out. They up their game and shit is good now.
>>872480
>>872485
This annon gets it. 5.11 makes quality durable backpacks. Weight becomes an issues but I think its totally worth it because of the features and high level of durability.
pic related. mah 5.11
>>870825
thank you for the only informative reply in the thread
>>870645
You can get away with a lot of dumb things if you're just going overnight. You'll be fine. A proper hiking pack is recommended for extended trips though.
>>870645
or get a real pack and not some fake military crap
