Post pics you've taken while /out/. Dumping.

What's the camera setting you used to get stars in the day like that?
>>866424
23 seconds at night actually, but the full moon made the sky look very bright.
>>866424
not him but I reckon the pitcher was taken at night, or at dusk, but via the aperture or shutter speed or ISO (or all of the above) exposed the landscape enough to make it look like day. it's a neat thing you can do with noice cameras and some proper know-how.
ALSO - OP these pics are glorious. I'm in awe of your photos and your skills. /p/ would probably pooh all over you (hopefully not tho) because they suck. you should post more, and post it here on /out/ where it's actually appreciated!

Nice shots fellow Washingtonian. I'm going to give eldo a shot next weekend if the weather isn't total shite.
>>866873
Right on man. Thanks for the heads up. Is the route finding pretty straight forward up there?
>>866444
Where is this? I woke up last night to see the Aurora and didn't see anything.
>>866897
For the most part. The cairns are well-preserved and generally spread out pretty well. I'd recommend just taking a look back every once in a while in the boulder field to get a mental map of what's where. There's also a gully you need to drop down though before you get to the glacial fields that, upon returning, can be a bit difficult to find if you're not looking properly. Have fun!
>>867158
Cool, thanks again.
>>866377

I took this photo last month, retook in black and white film today. Got a lot of nice little scans to look forward to.

I don't have anything available to contribute right now, but I'm definitely going to start recording my shitting scenery

I'm fucking crying
Found this little hiding in the tree's when I went hiking in Juneau
>>866393
Is this for real?
>>868773
Yup. Rented a f/1.4 lens and went to one of the darkest spots in WA to snap the pic. Here's another version with a car driving through, the fog from the ocean was really heavy and the headlights cast some pretty dramatic rays in the 23 second exposure.
>>868897
Whoops, posted the wrong version. Couldn't tell from the thumbnail on mobile
>>868899
Where at for this picture? Im in WA too, been trying to find a new spot for stargazing.
>>868978
Ruby beach out on the Peninsula. The only issue is that during the late spring/early summer there's a bit of mist that comes off the ocean. Pretty popular spot amongst stargazers, when I took those shots I saw another person there, friendly enough person to chat with.
I'd also recommend going to http://darksitefinder.com/map/ if you want some inspiration, as well. The data is a bit outdated, but it should give you a rough idea of where light pollution is heaviest.
>>868960
thanks!
>>868993
I love ruby beach, it's so gorgeous.
>>868773
It's insane. If you get a chance to ever be out on a boat 20nm out it feels like you're on a starship at night the way it reflects back on the sea.

Good luck on your Eldo attempt this weekend bro. Weather's looking a bit shit but here's hoping you get a nice window.
On some ranch land near Point Reyes, California.

>>871086
There's some gorgeous places and some that are less so. Just depends on what part you visit! Good luck with the barber anon
>>871090
Thanks man. Actually had one guy back out and us remaining two didn't feel like going on a glacier in these conditions.
Going for the north twin sister instead.
Eldo is probably gonna have to wait until next year.
