Should I?
I have a pair of Salomon boots and I'm very happy with them. If you can afford it I say go for it

No. Full leather or go home. All those little stitched seams will tear and the soles will fall apart before you know it.
Also, if you're hiking through and terrain with thorny things (spinifex, acacia etc), you'll have unbelievably annoying needles poking into your feet on the reg.

You kinda have a point but in this day and age there's plenty of sturdy fibers other than leather.
>>864938
Have you tried them on? Do they fit you?

> I had a bad experience once with some shitty Walmart boots so therefore all synthetic boots are like that.
Sure kid.

Not him, but unnecessarily intricate designs DO tend to fall apart rather quickly, had it happen to not too cheap LOWAs too
Planned obsolescence and shiiet

10 points for assumptions.
I worked a data acquisition job involving a lot hiking in rough terrain through thick scrub. Many people on the crew started out with synthetic Solomon boots like in OP's pic. Just as >>866123 mentions, intricate designs fall apart very quickly.
By the end of the season everyone had bought Zamberlan Vioz GTX or Asolo TPS Evo (pic related) full leather boots. Can't recommend them enough.

i have a salomon pair. they're pretty comfy, been using them for 2 years now.
I use these

not breathable, will never dry out when water gets inside, because no boot or shoe is really water proof.
>>866344
you know how your foot gets soaked right away when you step in a puddle or some mud? that doesn't happen when your footwear isn't full of holes and thus it won't need to dry much at all. I have an 11 year old pair of full-leather Merrells that have outlasted several synthetic-based challengers. That said, once you're at the >$350 range there's probably not a huge difference anymore
>>866457
I'm in a thru hiker mindset a lot of the time, I forget some people only spend a few days /out/. Boots like that are fine in those circumstances
>>866344
>>866457
Why not get the best of those two worlds, a leather boot with goretex inside?
I personally love those in the picture, there was not even need to break them in, the where comfy from the first day on.
>>864938
>Made in a massive sweatshop in Asia.
No.
>>864938
PIG DISGUSTING.
You want a pair of merrells, my man
I got these, how did I do?
>>868575
>merrells
they're good. but not better. stop shilling.
>>864938
>tfw Salomon shoes are falling apart after only 4 years
Hold me bros
No get trail runners
