The home is at top the top of a very steep and long, overgrown driveway at the top of a hill. Here's the garage AT THE BOTTOM of the driveway.
And the inside of the garage.

Is that a CD rack in the corner? What kinda tunes did this family jam?

Oh wow, that's deceiving. That's a mattress, with wacky colors stripes. it exactly resembles various colored CDs on a rack. This garage is a bit is a more recent, built later from the 70s or so I'd say. The house was built by a naval architect in 1941

Holy shit, gnarly optical illusion. Dumping some basements from my neck of the woods.
>>857761
BC here, where abouts are your basements?
>>857761
Awesome. How long has it been abandoned?

Clean the house up and occupy it.

You're probably kidding, but even if I did have the resources of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, as comfy as the place looks (on the outside), I couldn't justify living in that location, which probably has a lot to do with why it has been abandoned in the first place, and why no squatters have attempted to take it over thus far. It's in an inconveniently remote spot up in the mountains, that doesn't work for anyone outside of retirement or anyone not working in the immediate area (if there even is a shred of industry on that mountain). Unfortunately the only likely fate of buildings like these is wealthy individuals from urban centers below buying the property, demolishing the home, and re-purposing the land.
