I was out looking for wild ginseng for my first time today. My knowledge of it really only comes from the internet. I found a lot of plants that looked like very young ginseng, but I didn't want to uproot them because it's against the law in my state to pick plants with less than three prongs. I spotted a few of pic related. It closely resembles what a cluster of ginseng berries looks like. I pulled one up and it had a little round root, but it didn't look too much like a ginseng root. Does anyone know what I found? This is in Wisconsin. Input from anyone here who actually digs ginseng would be nice too.
General identification thread so everyone can contribute.
Indian turnip.
Jack in the Pulpit. I thought I found a goldmine of seng a few years ago but come Sept 1st I was let down.

only very, very superficially in that they are red berries. Have you seen a ginseng plant in real before?
From the photo it looks like Arum maculatum to me. But its hard to tell.

You seem to know a bit about ginseng. I have a guide now, but I was at a friend's property learning property lines so we can dig there and I found this. Is it ginseng?
