>>

Why carry eggs? pound of eggs weighs so much, a pound of rice crispy would be much lighter. and will give you that ultralight package.
>>
>>848983
car camping
>>
>>848983
I got an egg carrier for back packing and JESUS was it heavy, at least 3 pounds for 12 large eggs, also incredibly hard to clean off my cook ware when I was done

So take it car camping but if your gonna go deep in the mountains just bring mountain house breakfast skillits
>>
>>848992
WTF, pound of eggs are not as heavy as a pound of rice you idiot!

Only if they are soft boiled and your woman carries them in her vagina. They will be hard boiled when they come out though...
>>
Why would you pack shelled eggs? Just put them in a jar or bottle, they'll wisk while you walk
>>
>>849009
but steel is heavier than feathers
>>
>>848983
Yes. Filling and nutritious. You can hardboil them ahead of time and as long as they are kept cold they last for days.

One time i brought a dozen eggs camping, then i got too drunk and didnt properly secure my cooler. Racoon came in the night and ate all the eggs raw. Hide your eggs!
>>
>>849106
Did it ever finish cooking
>>
>I'd smash her egg
>>
>>848983
Yes. I take a dozen with me all the time. Although, I have my own chickens so mine are same-day fresh when I select them.
>>
>>849289
Every now and then when im out i see some faggot with a dog and think at least a chicken would lay an egg every now and then and be easy to carry. That would be dope.

Dogs can carry stuff too though, you ditz
>>
>>849306
Ya unless it gets too hot, or too steep, or too dry, or you travel to far in one day for the dumb lil dogger then youre stuck carrying it and all its stuff also. A chicken or even a retarded 5 year old with decent cardio and a backpack full of eggs would be a better out companion.
>>
>>849311
I think you have toxoplasmosis m8
>>
>>849312
On any given trail people with dogs are the first to get weeded out, after that its fat people, after that people with young children. But I've seen 8 year old girls in some crazy places long after the dogs and fat people got left behind. I'll take a chicken or an 8 year old with some eggs or even an 8 year old egg on a expedition before i took a doggo m8.

I just did a 12 mile pretty steep overnighter with some rock scrambling around an alpine lake with my dogger and shes not even full grown. What weak ass dogs are we talking about here?

I wouldnt take her on anything longer than three days total but still...

Never seen a chicken make it onto a hot, dry, steep, far trail so I guess my aneecdotal evidence trumps yours
>>
>>849322
So you took a nice little stroll and the weather didn't above the mid 80s. I hope you packed out all the dog turds.
>>
>>849322
It was mid 90s and pretty exposed.

Not saying we didnt take breaks (wasnt in a hurry to begin with) but theres some pretty athletic dogs that are quite capable of doing a couple of nights if you keep them active and train them for it.
>>
>>849333
But why didnt you bring a chicken? Nice trips btw.
>>
>>849312
Wtf is that
>>
>>849335
I hadnt considered the advantages to be honest. What about a couple of quail? Those could fit in a stuff sack and they wouldnt know the difference, plus the eggs are speckled.
>>
>>848984
The egg and woman seem to be gettable at Aldi.

>>

A chicken (and its eggs) would be a constant piece of prey innawoods. Raccoons, foxes, eagles, you name it. Would you really want to deal with that the entire time? The chicken would probably panic and hide.

I can tell youve never been /out/
>>
>>848991
This made me kek so fucking hard for some reason
>>
>>849234
No anon. A pound of fethers is heavier than a pound of gold.
>>
>>849294
have you never hunted with your dog? they love it.
>>
>>848983
>eggs
Does anybody else use their dehydrator for eggs? It's pretty darn awesome IMHO.
>>
>>849238
>they last for days.
Hardboiled eggs - if you let them cool by themselves - can last more than two months.

instead of a chicken i'd bring my ostrich.
they are stronger so they can carry more.
they are big so they can defend you.
you can ride them.
they also lay very big egg.

all in all i think the ostrich is the best outdoors companion.
>>
>>852629
Can you tame and/or control an ostrich like you could a dog or chicken?
>>
>>852645
yes it is very possible

Made me lol. Gg
>>
>>849727
Actually, it's the other way around, since gold is measured in Troy pounds, which are 12 ounces, and feathers are measured in Avoirdupois pounds, which are 16 ounces.
>>
>>848983

Why is she standing there, holding the egg like a retard? She got downs by any chance?
>>
>>849311

>>849106

Well, gotta go to the store now. :P

too fragile to my taste in cold weather they are good for ages tho. easy to make a meal out of so it could be good.

she just wanted to take a pic of the egg.
that is how women take a pic of anything.

She wanted to take a pic of herself, but she needed an excuse.

only if theyre dehydraded
>>
>>852629
These are really good points. It would be dank af to chow down on a big ass ostrich egg on the trail.
>>
Eggs + polenta + dry milk, bake it
Dehydrate with ham strips
Rehydrate on trail
Profit
>>
>boil the egg

If the hike is 2-4 days, be a fucking genius and cook the egg beforehand instead of going full retard innawoods. Fucking spergers
>>

Whats the matter eurocuck? Afraid of a little salmonella? Need a safe space to buy your eggs?
>>
>>848983
I take eggs all the time. three four day hikes, and have never had a problem. Cook them up with spam singles and watch your friend drool over them while they eat dehydrated sponge eggy crap
>>
>>849229

regardless of the joke there is really a huge difference in the calorie value of a lb of eggs vs a lb of candy bars.
>>
>>849004
Learn to cook properly
>>
If you pickle some eggs and vacuum pack them they'll last for months. Or just can them and keep in jar.
