This one only survived to day 4, was hoping he would be more fun that than but hey can't expect much from a bum. Certainly shouldn't expect him to be good at forced dehydration.

>>
>>838314
I'll bet that everyone complaining ITT has a leather belt, shoes, jacket, couch- god knows what else.
They have a bigmac or chickens strips for lunch everyday- made from animal's that live in deplorable conditions and who's only existence is to be slaughtered for human consumption.

But harvesting wild animals is evil.

They feed their pets canned food made from other animals.
But if a cat eats a wild bird its the end of the world.

And you're right about the pussification of males.
Our forefathers are looking down and shedding tears daily.

I look at my property and think of how someone came here 400 years ago with nothing in his saddle bags but an axe head, sack of flour and a slab of bacon and he carved out a home in this forest and started farming. Shooting as many deer as he could to cure for the winter so he could survive.

Now you have people crying over a dead rat or a dead venomous snake found in my yard.

Actually- serious hikers wear open toed shoes because it prevents jungle rot/trench foot.

>>
>>838336

If you to let your feet soak in water for hours on end while going /out/ you deserve trench foot.

In conditions where trench foot would even be a minor threat, I'd rather worry about open skin getting bit by venomous snakes, or coming into contact with poisonous plants, more than I'd worry about a condition that has many warning signs, and takes hours to actually set in and happen.

I don't even give a fuck about dead animals. I do give a fuck about needless killing; you aren't doing anything new, and you clearly aren't using the corpses for anything. You're literally killing them for sport, and that is fucking sad.

>>bbut muh ancestors and masculinity

There was no killing for fun back then. People did it to survive, whether it be for food, bones for tools, skin for clothing. You're the epitome of a sociopath, assigning life no value and taking it for no purpose other than to parade around like some old woman clinging onto the only thing that makes her worthwhile post menopause.

I hope that when someone breaks into your house and shoots you, your last blood-gurgling breath can be spent thinking about the pointless agony you caused other beings for "fun".

>>838442
How the fuck do you know that dip shit? FYI I ate that fucking squirrel and pretty much everything else I kill.
>>
>>838415
Yeah there's a good bit of them by me. I read somewhere that they actually used to be a lot more common. Something about the old growth forest used to be thicker so the dark color helps them blend better into the shadows. As those forests got cut down the new growth allowed more light which favors the grey ones. I've even seen a couple white ones before.
>>
>>838468
It is against the law in most places to just kill an animal (unless they are deemed pests). Many hunters donate what they don't use to local food shelters or other similar programs. Hunting is great fun and it isn't all about killing. Our ancestors hunted out of necessity yes, but if you are suggesting they did not enjoy doing so then you are delusional. Go out and get you a hunting license, you don't even have to hunt if you don't want to. Just go through the process, I think it will enlighten you to what its all about.

I don't hunt.
I kill rattlesnakes, copperheads and cottonmouths.

The snakes are in my freezer.
I was waiting until I had a few because I hate getting everything setup and just skinning one at a time.
Then I had a crazy week and have 5 now so now I need to skin them all.

I pulled 3 rat snakes out of my friends chicken coup and brought them out to my property so her elderly mother didnt kill them.
Found a gorgeous eastern kingsnake crossing the road onto my property- i grabbed a stick and got him into the woodline safely.
I have a fox living in down by my creek. I've fed him leftover fish from barbques, he's a curious little guy.
I have deer walking through nightly.
I used to have the biggest turkey I've ever seen come through every evening- his beard touched the ground. But I haven't seen him this year so I think a hunter got him unfortunately.

I don't hunt for sport. I asked my buddy to grab any he found at work (he's a logger) because I figured I'd need at least half a dozen. But the last two were so massive I think I'll have enough now.

But if I wanted to hunt for sport, I would.

>>838494
There is no bag limit/restrictions on hunting for quite a few pest species here.
Squirrel, fresh water turtles, armadillos, coyotes, venomous snakes, nutria.
There is no penalty for just killing and burying those animals AFAIK.

But its illegal to kill nonvenomous snakes (i personally wouldn't kill one even if it was legal) and any game animal out of season/without a tag of course.

Pic is a beautiful corn I saw sitting on the road one night. I would have loved to have had him out on the property but it was out on the highway and I was more focused on getting him to safety and not run over than catching him.

You will have to realize at some point that hunters care more about the environment than a hippy EVER will. The land around my property is watched over very carefully by me. Animals roam happily and they are very healthy. It makes me happy to know they are happy. I don't have to feel anything about blasting a few every once and a while. They are fruits on trees.

This is a shitty thread.

I had to kill my dog last night. He was 14 and had several tumors. I took him for a long walk around the farm, shot him and buried him on the edge of the swamp he loved to sniff around.

Most of you all need a reality check.

Pic is from when he was still healthy.

It was not intended to be homophobic.
It was meant to show that he cares about trivial and cosmetic appearances (like sanitized plastic wrap steaks in the grocery store) and is oblivious of the reality of what it takes to get that leather for his new boots- and he was behaving like an sjw tumblerena

>>839217
I personally don't kill for sport.
I went on a coon hunt with a neighbor- I thought it was un-sportsmans like to shoot a coon sitting on a branch after his dog ran it up the tree. I just walked home through the forest.

But its his right and I'll defend it.

And when I find another rattler or copperhead, I'm going to kill it.

BTW. I offer my property to those with kids for youth week.
I do not allow deer or turkey hunting here- but the first week of the season is kids only and I will gladly let them hunt here. Because I feel its very important to not only teach children that meat is more than something you buy at the grocery store. Its also important to teach them how to be self sufficient.

Pic related.
Told a friend I had a ton of gator hides- she wants a gator bikini.
Told her what colors I had and she chose pink so I dug one out.
Never did a bikini, not sure how it will turn out.

I REALLY need to do some skinning but its been 98Ā° and I honestly don't know what that excessive heat will do to the skins as they cure.
So I'm going to wait until September to do them all.
Plus I don't have enough tanning solution- that Pepsi guy is going to take half my bottle.
Hopefully I'll get a couple more. They're logging a 280 acre tract my buddy used to lease for hunting that's not far from my place. I expect a couple will make their way over here.

I'm going to use it as a teaching experience since I have multiple animals. Friend has a son and daughter that want to learn how to skin.

Has pink tint like other one so will be good to match up.

Sorry I already bagged it and threw it in freezer.
I know some people just want pics of dead critters

I'll be sure to do a good write up thread with lots of pics when I skin em all.
Its not difficult by any means, but directions on websites are just a few sentences and rarely include pictures- I'm sure people who are doing their first skin would appreciate pics to clarify how much to stretch, how to scrape and such.

Go ahead and tell me you have no issue with a 5 foot rattler in your front yard.

Go ahead and tell me what I'm doing is any different than the deer heads mounted in half the ski lodges in the U.S.

Tell me how slaughtering a cow just so you can have a leather jacket is acceptable but killing a rattlesnake is evil.

Go ahead, I'll wait.

I've seen many rattlers on my 10 acres and have left them alone for the most part aside from once when it was in my chicken coop. Rattlesnake bites are very rare, most of the time you have to literally step on it otherwise they just leave you alone.

Cows are farmed for humans and virtually every piece of the animal is used for something, you are killing healthy wild animals just so you can take their hide, badly tan it, and then hang it up on a wall to stink up the place since you've got no actual skills to make anything with it. Most of the deer heads in lodges etc are fake and those that are not were probably eaten by the hunter.

and please explain what it means to be a "man" to you, because you seem to think it means being retarded, hurting yourself, and hurting the environment for no reason other than to say "IM A MAN EVERYONE ELSE ARE JUST PRINCESSES"... That is the mentality of a little boy, which you likely are since you have yet to mature past your insecurities and become an actual adult.

I've been skinning for 25 years.
I also worked in the hotrod industry for a very long time- which allowed me to experiment with interiors and fabrics.

You are making assumptions based on your own sad experiences.

The fact that you have issues with harvesting wild animals shows how neutered you are.
You're content with stock yards raising 1,000 cows in the area half the size of a football field, pumping them full of antibiotics- while you eat their meat and enjoy their leather- but its OK because you don't have to witness it.

But when someone actually hunts for sport or hides- you throws a hissy fit.
Not only do I have the right to do this, but the animals I utilize lived a good life- in comparison with the lifestyle you perpetuate that is nothing but torture to the animals you benefit from.

I'm still waiting for a response to having a 5+ foot rattler on your front lawn.

Still no response about what to say to grandma when she steps on one walking out to her car.

Because you avoid the facts and attempt to slide the conversation to meaningless "I'll bet you're the type that..." bullshit.
>>
>>840134
BTW.
Being a man means protecting what's yours.
This includes removing threats to your family, friends and loved ones.

Just the fact that you've let rattlers cruise around your ten acres shows that you value a snake more than your mother, child or pets.

You're not a man by definition.

That's an easy 40 bucks in Texas right now.
I had a friend that would go out with some dogs and a bowie knife to hunt hogs when we were stationed in Texas.
And he was from like new Hampshire not Arkansas or some shit...

Buddy and I have an opportunity to go out hog hunting next year.
Friend is in forestry and she was invited out to control feral hogs.
Free cabin, just need to supply guns, ammo and food.
We were thinking something semi auto would be best to try and get as many in a group as possible.
What kind of groups did you find them in ?
Were not going for size, we need quantity.

You get money for pigslaying in Texas?
>>840165
I either head out north west NSW on public land or ask around for people with pig problems on private land. On public land, state forests etc I usually find them in mobs of 4-5. They go where the water is so it's easy enough to get the drop on them. All I've ever needed was my 1894. Semi autos would be better of course for larger mobs but I'm not licensed for that unfortunately.

Aight senpai. I was invited for a late night boar hunt by my gf's dad. I feel pretty comfortable /out/, but I am a complete noob when it comes to hunting.

I asked what I should bring and wear, and he told me to wear preferably green or brown clothes which don't make a sound when moving around, and a cap.

I think about bringing my knife, a flashlight (maybe a headlamp?) and a pair of binoculars as well... Or would I look like an autismo tryhard?

Got any tips for me?

Dash in my 1966 F100.
Truck is 50 years old so you can imagine how cracked it was.
Luckily the main contoured foam was intact, I only had to replace foam in the flat areas.
Recover was simple really.

And yes, I have decades of photos, just not on me. I personally don't transfer every pic I've ever taken to any new electronic device I buy.
These 3 vehicles are sitting out front so were easy to take some fresh pics.

This argument again.

Hunters do more to protect wild species than any other group of people. If all the wilderness and public lands were to be auctioned off for destruction you better believes hunters would lead the charge to stop this. I don't get how people think hunters don't care about the environment. Sure there are a few redneck faggots who litter and hunt unethically but the vast majority of hunters care very much about the wild land they hunt on.

One of the stingray hides for my other seat. Each one of the "pearls" (the round bumpy part) is a calcium deposit. Basically a little ball of bone. I have to buy a new pair of surgical scissors for each new stingray project because they destroy blades.

We really need a separate hunting, fishing and trapping board. PETA trolls are making /out/ unusable even for people who don't hunt, fish or trap. Even threads that have nothing to do with those activities will inevitably get shitted up, the animal rights nuts seem to have targeted the entire board and the mods don't do anything.
