Im in a competition with my dad: who can make the better walking stick.
I got this stick(i dont know what kind of wood).
He got a straight piece of cedar.
Pic related, the stick with the tools ive used thus far. I was thinking of sealing the ends with wax and sticking it in the garage so it can dry slowly and to prevent splitting. Then once it has seasoned i will rub it down with sandpaper low to high grit so it will be really smooth. Next i was thinking i might rub it down with linseed oil once a day for a week, then 3 times a week for 1 week, then once a week for a month, then once a month for a year. I have seen some walking sticks with sand mixed with lacquer as the coating.
any ideas, i will post more pics.

Carve something into it. Make the staining odd, maybe find a way to make it loook like a candy cane (not those actual colors).
Tie some gourds or naturish swag onto it and make a Rafiki stick

sick voodoo charms man, get some feathers or rap the handle

But the gourds will be filled with high proof alcohol, right?

That's a good idea. Will work on that tomorrow
My next project is to make a fire blower out of this gourd. I will probably burn some Indian designs into it but not sure what else..
