I'll go travelling through Iceland in september with a car and a tent. Anyone got tips about clothing, hikes, outdoor gear, must see stops,... ?
Sounds like a plan, but yea bring proper clothing and a hammock Grandpa
Be sure you rent a decent car. There's plenty of things to do in the north and westfjords

Iceland is a tiny country so I think 150 camping spots is plenty for a 30 day trip.
Icelander here. My experience with tent's in Iceland has generally been that they're good in the summer in areas with greenery or places intended for tent use. But not so much in other situations.
During autumn and winter here it generally gets too windy and unpredictable for tents, most places are barren and difficult to traverse. So be well prepared for that and pick tent locations wisely. Otherwise that tent might turn into a kite (I've seen it happen).
Also you might get better responses over on travel;
