Hey /out/ I'm new here, I plan on going camping in the wilderness with one friend of mine, we will be gone for 2 weeks. What are some base foods I need to take that I can lean on, and enhance with game meats and berries and what not.
I have plain oats, flour, vegetable oil, vinager, and a bunch of spices and seasonings. Should I take anything like bread, or any food that doesn't need to be refrigerated? What are the cornerstone healthy energy filled foods I need to take
>>
Should I take protein powder to just put in everything?

If you're doing a lot of activity and need calorie dense food just get peanutbutter.

Canned pastas and fruits.
Mre's are high in calories. Very high btw. Bottled water or emergency water packets save space.

Don't forget your emergency ration, water filter straw, and fire starter. Have fun op.

Holy fuck I miss Jolt

OP here, my pack is my military bag, good frame and space, but i don't want to take canned stuff, i want stuff that can be bagged or put in a container and not have it rot. Again I have oats and shit so that I don't have to worry about preserving it. Canned stuff isn't preferred.
>>
Well then, freeze dried meals? Light, space savers. Even with a cooking cup it doesn't take much pack space. You can buy granola and blueberries, green beans, corn. Ect in small pouches also.
>>
I forgot you can use the propaks from mountain house as a reusable bag. The zip lock seal is more heavy duty.
>>
guys i dont have a freeze dryer and i live in a community in newfoundland with 1700 people, we have rural shit here. I know how to pack my shit and make my own mres, but i don't know how to, without machines, freeze dry shit, but its probably some simple thing i can google.
Also what about peas or beans? Any good to take? I know good bean recipes but they take a long ass time to actually prepare.

Do NOT forget some emergency dehydrated water. It may save your life.

Just bring ramen or spaghettios or mountain House. All easy, cheap and nutitionous. But seriously just forage for food it's easier than carrying
