In retrospect I would have gone with a wave or something else instead of the sidekick, but the locking blade sold me on it for only 40 bucks. The serrated blade seems useless and redundant thus making the sidekick not the best choice in my opinion. It was my first multi tool purchase.

I have one of those in my tackle bag. They are pretty solid. Gerber should make more multitools tbqhwy. If they could make nice designs for 50%-60% the price of similar Leathermans, they would totally sell.

sorry for the late delay

it's a titanium folding spork from Tad Gear.
overpriced and honestly kinda useless.
if i used it to eat anything more than rice or some ramen, it would just bend and eventually break.
the idea's great, but they made it with such a shitty spork. 2bh the can opener on it is really great

pic related is an American Kami titanium spork.
it's like the god of all sporks

they also seem to make holes in bag, and pockets

i might be wrong, but i think snowpeak does make a spoon
>>
What makes the wave better than the Supertool 300
>>
>>843851
>its made of carbon steel
No it isnt
>>
>>844207
Frankly, the only real feature the Wave has that the ST300 doesn't is an outside-facing blade. Which doesn't matter much to me since I carry a knife anyways, since multitools have shit ergonomics.
>>
>>844256
>real feature the Wave has that the ST300 doesn't is
scissors, if you want to call them that - the original model had a better pair and Surge has the best Leatherman scissors 2bh
Wave also has contoured handles so it's more comfortable in your hand
Wave has a small bit driver which is handy if you wear glasses or otherwise need a small bit driver
with the Wave you also have the option of interchangeable bits and an optional bit extender (personally, i use this quite often)
the Leatherman bit kit kinda sucks, but it's good enough. if i used it more i'd just look for a higher quality bit set
wire cutters on the ST300 have a replaceable blade which is nice

overall, the ST300 is a somewhat more robust tool
the Wave is somewhat more versatile

I had one of those. Locking mechanism locked up on me so I replaced it with a Wingman.

also can flame 'anodize' over a fire - kinda cool effect if you like blue/purple

The annoying part is that you are always holding either a spoon or fork in your hand while you eat with the other end. I don't find it the most comfortable and the slope of the "handle" is not the most ergonomic. Also, they are fairly short which is nice for packing but not as nice for eating. Otherwise they are fine.

Personally I just don't bother with forks at all anymore because none of my food requires it. I don't even remember the last thing I cooked in the woods that would be best eaten with a fork. I normally just bring a long spoon, pic related.

I have one, and have some feedback.

Overall it's a good tool, but its heavy and definitely designed for hard use. Because of this, it really needs to be carried in a sheath, and that relegates it to toolbox duty because I'm a pocket clip guy.

>Pros:
>You can open the pliers one handed by flicking your wrist. Think switchblade, but with more Larry the Cable Guy
>Durable as fuck
>All the tools are outside accessible and lock open
>Pliers are springloaded, actually are useful, and the wire cutters are sharp and replaceable. you could cut a fucking penny in half with those with no problems
>Ceracote and black oxide look sexy af

>Cons:
>Big and heavy
>Tools are small for the size of the OHT
>Needs a LOT of oil to break in, and its still pretty stiff when it's broken in. The Pliers will open like butter, but there's some serious spring pressure in the design.
>Screws can back out, and the tool ends up with play and feeling "Squishy". Leatherman will fix this on their warranty. For me, they just sent a brand new tool.

Overall I'm pleased, but its too big for me to EDC. In fact, I'm probably going to switch from a Charge TTI to a Skeletool CX soon. Any feedback on those other than girly pliers?
>>
>>844810
i have the skeletool cx it's the old semi-serrated one.
it's a decent sized blade in an ergonomic package i use it a lot.
it's okay overall but the truth is it's still too heavy and bulky to the blade size compared to a g10 handled folder.
the blade is pretty good and the pliers is perfectly fine for light tasks obviously not in the same league as the big pliers.
for edc it's fine and has everything you really need in a city/office setting.
>>
>>845852
Thanks. Frankly, a knife on its own doesn't cut it for me, and the pliers/knife/driver combo is perfect. I just wish they had given it the cutting hook from the MUT instead of the beiner.

Seriously, how many bottles are pop off these days anyway?

As long as you have a Bic lighter, bottle openers are useless.

And I like my Skeletool so far. Bought it for fishing but also works well as an EDC. It is a lot less bulky than some of the multitools with 1,001 features. All I wanted was pliers and a knife in one.

The knife locks and is big enough to open those shitty plastic packages and other everyday stuff like that. The screwdriver comes in more handy than I expected like whenI want to change the batteries on something but don't want to go to the garage and dig through the tool box. The pliers ad wire cutter have done fine, although they are still tight but I guess that's better than them being loose and floppy but I wish they had a spring for fishing.

I like the belt clip a lot too.
>>
>>846049
>>846054
the bottle opener is the single most used tool on my skeletool tho second the blade third the plier and i rarely ever use the screwdrivers.

Why do you need a bottle opener? Don't you have a Bic?

>>846236
Is that a seatbelt cutter or something? As long as it folds over the screwdriver and stays flush, it doesn't look too bad. But I think people like me buy the Skeletool because we don't want 30 extra tools we won't use on a daily basis.

>>839549
>Personally, I say fuck scissors.

Confirmed pleb. A quality pair of scissors are GOAT tier. I've used them more than my knife on my squirt ps4.

Speaking of my ps4; the whole reason I got a wingman was because I loved the smooth tool action of my squirt. But on my wingman the tools clump together and it irritates me. Do they all do this? I even oiled the shit out of the tools and opened/closed them a bunch of times using a pair of pliers. It helped slightly but I'm not satisfied. I've heard Vnox is a great alternative.

bic is not a thing here and you can open bottles with just about anything keys change an other bottle but the bottle opener on the skeletool is comfy and it actually captures the lid with the spring so you don't have to pick it up.
