Do you guys ever try to make a Nelson Trapper backpack by yourself?
I'm trying to make one. If you guys can share some tips that would be great.

Why this style? I've contemplated this, but thought a A frame or a basket pack would be simpler and lighter. Not tryin' to say you're wrong just wanna debate.

I make shit in the toilet, why make that too?

Like for fun I could see it. But theres so many options with durable fabric/sewn by industrial machines /lightweight frames that I wouldn't use one after that initial trip to see if it worked.
But I do custom auto upholstery so if you're having issues I'll help where I can.

Thanks anon
So,
What are the dimensions of the frame?

Because this style is so vintage /out/.
Making it for fun tho.

not same poster, but I would capitalize on the fact that you can make it custom fit you. mebbe measure where your favorite pack comes in contact with your back?
what kind of wood and/or materials were you gonna use?
Some big box hardware stores (Lowes/Homedepot) have scrap corners in their lumber sections, sometimes they have decent hardwoods in there.
After seeing this thread I think I may make one/buy one. I think there are some guides out there, nothing that's really in depth though.
