Hey guys
So as the title says looking for some advice on which kayak to get. Looking to stick around $500. Mostly for creeks, rivers, and lakes, but also wouldn't mind the option to handle oceans. I came here because everyone says different things, so what's the best single person kayak for around $500?
Also I should clarify, this isn't for fishing purposes, just recreational paddling.
Just rent a couple from your local kayak place.

Well that's the thing, me and a group of friends go every weekend, and it's almost $40 bucks to rent them. At this point it's more sensible to buy my own.
Cody?
Go to bed chris

futurebeach trophy 126; got it as my first kayak the beginning of summer and loving it. nice and stable perfect for sleeping on the lake or fishing. nice thick plastic can handle bumps and scratches but makes it heavy as shit so don't plan on carrying it too far. pretty cheap too i think was about $400 plus assume $100 more for paddle/jacket/accessory shit. definitely recommended.

Does Dagger even make a $400 kayak? I had to lay down $750 for my Axis 10.5

I've developed a certain fondness for the Advanced Elements "AdvancedFrame" convertible kayak, an inflatable that takes an aluminum backbone that keeps it almost as rigid as a hardshell model.
You can transport these things in a regular car without a roof rack, they inflate relatively quickly, and they track pretty damn' well. I've used one of these on lakes, rivers, and even out on the ocean. As long as you're not shooting whitewater or dealing with waves over two meters, I think you're good with one of these.
