Are you Australian and interested in participating in group buys?
Also I guess if you're not Australian and want to do group buys shill for that in this thread too.

Yeah mate. Depends on what but anything to knock down the fucking ridiculous prices we get over here.
>>827988
count me in
This is a great idea because pretty much anything i find at a decent price ovetseas suddenly becomes about the same as overpriced gear here.

Non-Australians could potentially participate but that may make buys tricky, right?
Actually considering how many things we could potentially be ordering from overseas it might be fine.

>yes
australian group boys
We're not sure yet what kind of buys we want to do. It will depend on what we all need.
Possibly orders might be Gransfors Bruks axes, moras, sleeping pads, wool smocks.
I guess some of it might not necessarily getting the same thing cheaper as much as splitting shipping.
That $50USD shipping would be much less harsh split ten ways, right?
Is there a Sydney /out/ group? I just moved from Queensland and am looking to do some exploring. Also have a car so looking to go on longer trips.

I am in sydney and looking to do stuff after september.
To paranoid for skype, but up for group buys if I actually know people.
If you don't use skype maybe try getting on it as a guest and leaving some kind of contact details.

Massdrop??

How do you propose to get enough people wanting to buy the same thing to justify it?
If there is something that I can only buy from overseas I can usually find an equivalent product here in Aus after doing a little research. Stick with what you can get here and support Australian businesses. Even if it costs a little more its worth it in the long run.
This was worth an entire thread ?
You'd all have to buy from the same warehouse at roughly the same time, for this to be economy.
There's a reason why Australian imports are expensive.
Consider the uncrowded wilderness the payoff.
Can this be any other kind of Australian thread please ?
I'll go first: went on a bike ride in Melbourne, actually was surrounded by nature, I loved it.

you did it wrong. Only 2 week trail riding expeditions with a 10000 dollar bike count as /out/. You make me sick.

> subtle
I like subtle.

If we're just splitting shipping we would not have to be buying the exact same thing. Just from the same place.
As for buying the same thing... I think it's worth a shot. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

I'll support a retailer if they sell me what I want and only just barely rob me. If they don't have what I want or want to rob me then I won't support them.
They're not making the products they are just selling them. Those retail assistants and managers can go work somewhere else if the store shuts down.
Consider this: for what we pay in our stores we can often get this stuff mailed to us for $66AUD and still save money. That is madness. These retailers are not competitive.

That's why it's called a group buy m8, how else do you think it would work?
>>830171
Sure.
