how do you know, have you tried it? didn't think so.

How cold does it normally get in the winter where you plan to camp?
How well sealed is the camper top?
Electric radiant heater, reflectix, foam insulation board with OSB over it for the floor. Extra battery.

Only in pre 1999 cars. Newer cars are fine. Try it if you don't believe me.

Just do this OP, a good sleeping bag also helps.

It gets down to at least single digits, and it's fairly well sealed.
1. Eat a high calorie/fat dinner or late night snack.
2. Use a thick blanket or foam product to line the bottom of the truck. A layer under you is (normally) just as good as one on top of you.
3. Small electric space heaters, battery powered.
4. A good sleeping pad/bag combo. Don't hesitate to use a fleece liner inside of your bag and an extra blanket underneath your pad.
5. Try to have a vent or a dehumidifier of some sort, condensation can and will build up, and may possibly freeze. You never want to be wet while sleeping.
6. Layer up inside your bag. Good thick socks, long underwear and maybe a soft hoodie and a pair of sweats. The more layers the better.
Good luck and have a great time.
move to New Mexico
I use a Camco Olympian catalytic heater for motorhomes with a 1.5gal propane tank, fine to run inside. It really cranks though and I have the loss through the tent, might be too hot for just a shell.

OP I use what is called a "pig blanket"
Stanfield pig heat mats are used for piglets to keep them warm. come in different sizes and get nice and toasty when used in your trucks bed. I know someone who lives in a boxtruck and uses them on all 6 sides during the winter months.
