You'll probably fall somewhere between 40-75L. Generally the less experienced you are, the more likely you are to over pack.

Get a multitool. Fire starting method. Water purification (boil or chem). Emergency foil blanket. Spare socks. Clean dry layer. Waterproof outers. Cordage.
Go camp for one night and then figure out what you'd like/might need for longer.
