while hiking in the jungle in costa rica I found a pendant in the shape of a man praying, it was wedged in a pocket of a rock we were climbing on. I pocketed it. still have it somewhere.

early morning fishing on a jetty found a girls purse with a iphone, weed, a glass pipe and $300 just sitting on a rock.

surf fishing at night at ocean beach sf, I tripped over a backpack with a full bottle of makers mark, a bluetooth speaker and a 9mm pistol. Shit was just sitting there in the dark no one around. I took it.

Car camping I went to the bathroom to take a shit and found a cellphone, wallet, keys and a pair of reading glasses under a newspaper. I called the guys wife and returned his stuff to him. they gave me a 12er of budweiser.

I've also found 2 dead bodies in golden gate park. both looked like murders.

If you anticipate on getting another flashlight/headlamp that's worth anything, you should get a charger (excluding flashlights that use CR123 batteries, of course). Nitecore makes a nice one for around $10.

I found stolen goods when I was /out/

I found a camp really close to the last stop from the subway track that leads to the woods. And practically the only people who set up camp that close to a subway stop are homeless people who sleep outside only because they don't own a home. Not the camp of an outdoorsman or hiker or whatever. There were also used needles in the camp to confirm my suspicion that this was some junkie degenerate.
Anyway, the reason I checked out the camp was that there were camping equipment scattered all over the place. It must have been stolen gear, cause he'd just emptied valuable stuff out and left it there, then it got water damage when it rained. And this was camping gear that you wouldn't just throw out if it was your own stuff. It must have been worth a lot. The whole camp looked sketcy as fuck and I wondered who he robbed or stole it from. There was also a bike with a cut chain wrapped around it, and missing front wheel, and some boxes that used to contain electronics. Obviously stolen goods as well. I reported it to the police desu.
