It was very hot and sunny the last couple of days, but I thought it could be a disease or a fungus.

Acer's are prone to wind burn on their leaves, first water it well and secondly move it to a more sheltered location where it won't get so much wind directly on it, once it matures a little then it can be moved to a more open location, alternatively you could try putting something next to it to block the prevailing wind a little.
