USAJobs will often have listings for seasonal work doing things like maintaining/repairing trails, and invasive vegetation control. Sounds like hard and boring work to me, but the pay isn't that terrible and doesn't require a lot of skill.

I start an internship through the SCA for the forest service on Monday as a river patrol ranger. I'm going to school for biology and would love an out job, just no idea what exactly I want to do.

If we're going to do one ups with National level BSA Camps I think Double H tops the list. It only ran a few years as an overflow camp for Philmont, but it was a great program. You show up. They give you supplies, map, compass, gps and instructions to show up at an outpost in 4 days for food and a couple other programs. No trails, not much in the way of an itinerary other than when you did resupply. Just you, your friends and the New Mexico Desert. You did have a guide but they were pretty much just there to carry a radio in case of an emergency.

I just got a job at a plant nursery and its dog shit hot as shit and shit pay.

Outdoor manual labour is over rated.
