How do you stop allergies

I have consumed half a bottle of allegra today
I have not slept in 2 days
I have been taking steaming hot showers every few hours
I still cannot breathe at all

I am minutes from blowing my face off with a shotgun

How do I stop this hell
Please

For emergencies like this, take a benadryl and go to sleep.

Next, find an allergist. Stop taking allegra if it doesnt work. Allegra isn't an "as-needed" medication, it's a preventative. There is no reason to take more than one, ever.

I take zyrtec and nasacort, and use benadryl when things get crazy. Go to a doc and find out what works for you.

Look into ranitidine. Its marketed as Zantac for stomach acid problems. It works by blocking H1 receptors (anti-histamines block H2) and works a treat for me when used with traditional 24 hour antihistamines.

Have eczema on my lower legs and feet as well as hayfever which it works for as well when I outbreaks out of season.

Also, you'll never get indigestion ;-)

Pro-tip, if you try it, discard the "never take more than 2 75mg pills in 24 hours" nonsense. I've researched this one (I'm 42 and no longer reckless with the shit I put into the ol bod) and doses of up to several grams a day of ranitidine have been used without problems in people with very severe gastic reflux.

I take 150mg 3x a day along with cetirizine when I've got the fever or 'zema.. very impressed with the results.

Also, for fucks sakes STOP TAKING HOT SHOWERS.

It opens up the pores in your skin, sinuses and such and lets more allergens in.

Also pt 2 if you're having trouble breathing your air passages are becoming inflamed to the point they're cutting off breath. That is a medical emergency.

I'm speaking from experience here. I came very close to death at 10 after running through a corn field choked with ragweed and going into full blown anaphylactic shock.

Epinephrine saved my ass.

I take Volnostin, it works like a charm. I can pop 2 in my mouth, swallow and then go eat birch bark for all I care (allergic to birch).

Also, my bro-in-law usually takes them before eating cherries.

Not OP, but I read my father's epipen label (dad is a beekeeper who falls into anaphylactic shock after a single sting).

"If you start falling into anaphylactic shock, apply epipen and call the emergency services. If there are any allergic reactions to epipen, apply a second epipen and call emergency services."

Really? Take another dose of the shit you're allergic to? It's so counter-intuitive

Do other normal anti-allergy meds work for eczema for you too?
I just went through a bad eczema break out due to being around a friend's dog that i'm allergic to, and taking benadryl always seems to help stop the urge to itch temporarily, but the drowsiness from it's use really sucks.

Cetirizine works for me, even on cats.

is this some hippy bullshit or are there scientific studies backing it up that don't have sources like "motherearthspirit.org" or "naturalmedicineforfightingchemtrails.tk"?

generally curious

Cream in nostrils, large doses of concentrated chamomile and ginger tea. Manuka honey works allegedly as well as local honey.

Epinephrine is literally adrenaline. It would be hard to imagine someone being allergic to adrenaline.
>>
This. Take cold showers and suck on ice to bring the swelling down

4 is the max anybody can take. If 4 epipens doesnt help then you are dead.
>>
Flonase, a Neti-pot, saline nasal spray, and Sudafed worked wonders for me when I had a sinus infection. Lots of hot tea with lemon and honey too.

If you've never done a Neti pot, they're god damn amazing.

in the long run you should give longterm silicium intake a chance. with it you can reduce the alloy ratio in your body. alloy is beeing used to induce in research to make rats allergic, since it heavily stimulates your imune system. for the same reason it is being used for vaccines to provoke an reaction of the immune system. therefore if you have alloy in your body and you most certainly will, you can decrease the general alertness of your immune system by reducing your alloy level. may be this wont remove you allergy but it would reduce its intensity for sure.

try different medications and by different I mean meds with different antihistamines in them
also, clean and wash your rooms and don't keep your windows open during the day

Make an appointment with a allergy specialist / immunologist. General MD don't normally have the experience with serious allergies or know the current drug formulary.

At the moment I am on daily loratadine (Clariton), with mometasone furoate monohydrate (Nasonex, steroid) and azelastine HCI (Astepro, anti-histamine) for if it gets bad.

Before I went to an allergist, my MD just crammed me full of Seldane and gave me antibiotics for my quarterly sinus infections. Only have them about every other year now.

This. I thought it was just some hippy thing (as did my old doctor). But when I moved I got a new doc who told me to try one. Neti pots / nasal rinsing work. Just make sure and use distilled water. City water is a no-go, and even on well water the minerals can aggravate.

The first time you use it, your family will find you screaming, curled up in the bathtub trying to wish away the memory of the shit that came out of your head and into the sink. After that, its awesome.
