The Survivalist (2015)
>>
i just watched it because of this thread and thought it was a pretty realistic portrayal of a post economic collapse world.
>>
overall decent movie.
i could go on and on about what i think were flaws in the main characters logic and decision making.
he does go full retard at the end.
it didn't have to end that way.
i think they were trying to make several key points with the plot ending scenario. but with limited amount of time to squeeze it in to a two hour movie it comes out being minimally unsubstantiated and lacking some credibility.

still better than 99% of other recent films that have tried to do this type of story. Just wish they could have made it a longer movie to give more time to flesh out the characters, history and plot,

definitely worth the watch though.

I'd rate it 7/10.
The first thirty minutes are great. No talking, just one guy in the woods doing his daily routine. Relaxing as fuck.

When the women get involved it's a bit shitty, and the characters make some stupid decisions, but in all it's not bad.

Probably the most realistic portrayal of a post apocalyptic scenario in any movie I have seen.
>>
shit, rushed ending desu.

through the whole movie you get the impression that theyre deep innawoods far from any civilization (hence theyre also so eager to protect the seeds, bohoo how do we get through the winter, etc) and then after the last fight it seems like she walks around a few miles, steps out of the woods and all of a sudden there's a big organized camp with armed soldiers and all that.

other than that it was alright imo. like a 5-6/10

Thats were i stopped watching. Couldnt take anymore.
>>
>>786311
Really? It wasn't that bad.
>>
>>784725
yeah unless that guy knew he couldnt get in their was no point in him being out there by himself, he could have just been part of the well armed survivalist camp
>>
+inna wood hustle peace for 30mins
+slow pace, no forced dialect or monologue highly immersive
+cosy af farm
+-Location uninteresting, feels more real although lack of muh pretty camera shots.
+Deeply unsettling scenes (although this also stepped into unnecessary gruesome scenes)
-Unnecessary nudity and gruesome scenes. ( although this added to raw feeling )
-piss poor cop out ending
-strange time scale where it appears distances travelled or time elapsed between events is confused.

I half expected her to make a stew out of it. You know, for protein. To help them survive a little longer.

Amateur /out/ lurker here.
What are the official /out/ movies or shows?

Literature has a gigantic canon of nature, exploration, hunting, innawoods, drifter, mountaineering core material that is actually good but I struggle to recall anything good in film.

Anyone? I have the week to kill and would love to spend it comfy mode.

I liked it apart from two things.

1. Seeing him pull his tommy todger.

2. The ending.

All is Lost with Bob Redford. I go /out/ alone, mostly mountaineering (which means added weight and extra precautions etc.), and I can seriouslly relate to it. Recommend this film to everyone, but specially to all you knife bear fighters, top tier gear wearing hikers and of course, operators.

This image is from a porn film isn't it?
>>

Aha I saw that one! It's amazing, I still can't believe they made it entertaining for the entire duration of the movie.

Master and commander
Das Boot
All is Lost are top comfy marine/sailing exploration movie.

What the fuck happened to adventure films? Like discovering shit going where you've never been, getting lost, navigating, survival and stuff?
All the action in films today involves blowing something up, punching someone or irrealistic sex scenes.

Can someone bring adventure back?

The Naked Prey
Its kind of an old movie. but if you dont mind watching older movies, its pretty good. Pretty action packed survival adventure in the African wilderness

I liked it desu, he wasn't good with the gun though. Also that machete at the end was really shitty and no bevel at all.

>people complaining about nudity and gruesomeness
Are you 14, little fairies or Americans? Man the fuck up. Mia has a nice pussy senpaitachi. I would even tap that older one.
