The contests that get the most airtime are the ones about to leave, since that way they can get the most bang for their buck. They can use up all that contestants footage and the most amount of drama will occur the hours before one leaves. That's why the black guy took up all the first episode, it allowed them to use all of his footage (and not waste it) while also capturing his freakouts that lead him to leave the first day.

The contestants that do really well (I'm assuming Jose will be) will have the last episodes devoted to them mainly since they are all that's left.

If you haven't already Bear Grylls "The Island" is pretty good. Season 1 is really fun, a bunch of lads trying to make it on the island. Season 2 is the KING of all KEKS, where they have male and female teams. Male team showcases a good amount of banter and teamwork while the female team slowly starves to death and is saved repeatedly by the producers. Season 3 is garbage, mixed gendered teams, and i think because they all knew this was going on TV, there was no clear leader/hierarchy because they wanted to be inclusive. No teamwork, no banter just starving and arguing.

Leaving fish out of water for too long and throwing his line into the water is pretty retarded, not to mention falling in.
