They don't have Mourning Doves in France. You're thinking of the Eurasian Collared Dove. The Eurasian doves are an introduced pest where I live (North Texas) and there are loads of them around my house constantly calling all day long, it's annoying as fuck. Mourning doves are native to North America and aren't anywhere near as vocal in comparison.
