Hatchets aren't the most versatile tool

Oh wew look I just did!

And FYI a 'forest' axe (or hand and a half as they're called here) > hatchet in versatility.
>>
>>755124
Another hatchet lover here, forest axes require 2 hands making it less versatile ;)

Gun > hatchet

You can't clear brush and scrub with a hatchet.
>>
>>755157
You gonna cut a sapling down with your gun buddy

If there's a will theres a way

You need a ten pound piece of steel just to get firewood? Lol, that's what my whole bag weighs!
>>
For the work I do I need something larger then a hatchet as they are simply to small and a splitting axe or two bit axe is to large. Perfect size is a forest axe.

if you can't see the problem with swinging a fine cutting edge at a tree like an ax then there is no hope for you

Shovel is the best most versatile tool.

I thoroughly love my hatchet and find it completely useful on any camping or hiking trip. I have zero sympathy for people that can't hike 30 miles a day with 60 pounds on their back. Honestly if you can't do that with 120 pounds you must be a woman. It sucks to be you and you won't survive when you actually need to. Hatchets are just the best. Protip:You rarely need more than 20 pounds of gear even on extended trips(30 days+) so adding a hatchet shouldn't derive a fucking complaint.

I have broken a 16 inch tree with a 12 gauge completely in half with one shot.

Is this that anon that got totally ass pained in that other thread where some anon causally mentions they run a 6-minute mile and car camping?

Nigga, you're gonna chip off a piece of your knee or hack open your thigh
>>
>>755119
it's good enough but for a single tool i would rather have a knife. you can break wood with leverage that you can easily process with a hatchet.
>>
>>755161
Thicc

Having actually used a shovel like one of these in the military, they're shit. The joint between the head and the handle never sits snug enough and it will end up wobbling. Just a little bit, but enough to make it worthless for anything but a basic shovel.
>>
>>755346
The fuck are you talking about? I've cut down plenty of trees with machetes, they thrive on blunt edges. It looks just as beavered as a tree cut down with a hatchet

Can confirm.

Poster here. Not trolling. If you cannot caveman status yourself then you utterly will have no real chance at long term survival.

Gimmicky bullshit if you ask me. Shekels to Shillings that thing's probably poor to mediocre at everything. Maybe it might be good at opening bottles or weighing down your ruck.
