I have a rem 870 in 12g that I dont really care too much about, a rem 1100 in 20ga that I use for birds and an Ithaca 37 from the 40s in 12ga that I like quite a bit.

Remington 870 Express bought new in 1998. Shoots up to 3" mags cause that's all they made at the time.

I've kinda thought about getting a bullpup kit for my 870 express. It seems like by shortening it and taking the wood furniture off (lightening) it I would actually be able to take it with me going /out/

I've thought about turning mine into a home defense since I don't hunt anymore. The best thing about the 870 is I can turn it into whatever I want by swapping a few parts.

You're right though, a normal 870 is just too long for most /out/ activities.

There was a guy on /diy/ about 2years ago. Who cut up a real sks and proceeded to post his build log... Idk if /k/ ever found out about it really. He drilled holes and cut out the buttstock and everything. Cut down the barrel to like 12 inches long.. Was so great. Cause i knew someone somewhere was metamorphically losing their shit.

I like Mossberg over remmington because of of how I can chamber a shell, and turn off the safety without taking my hand off the grip and trigger.
And I don't catch my thumb on that stupid magazine catch that 870s have where you load your shells
