So /out/, I need a new pack. Pictured and owned is my REI Flash 62, it's served me pretty well except the zippers are garbage and they're not replaceable/I can't sew new ones on. Need a pack that's tough for sc/out/ing but still light for long trips. Is surplus the way to go? Or does REI/Osprey have a comparable pack?

I'd go to a used outdoor store if you have one. I got a sweet 60L in the PNW for $35 bucks and consigned my old bag for the same price in the same building. Either that or ebay, newer bag technology really isn't so far advanced that I can justify to buy an expensive new bag.

WEIGHTS ABOUT A MEGATON
>>722789
UMMM A MEGATON IS A UNIT OF EXPLOSIVE POWER OKAY NOT MASS OR WEIGHT GEEZ.
>>722790
You are so dumb. Megaton as a measure of a nuclear weapon, is based on the equivalent power of the explosion of one million tons of TNT. Mega means million. Ton is 2000 lbs.
2/10 for making me reply

I wanted to buy a deuter rise tour 45+ after my own search. its a mountain pack but I liked it. I liked it because it was extendable and also had a lot of places to strap stuff.

it's about the time of year people are getting ready to head out again. Obviously it's a subject on people's minds right now. Seems natural to me.

Has served me for 5 years now, and still looks like almost new. They update the model year by year so you won't have problems finding the latest. Well spent money imo. Light and sturdy. No bullshit and trustworthy.
My daily pack for work. Worth. Every. Penny.
