I did it for 2 years. I built a shack from plywood and pallets I got from the dump, It way in the back of this summer camp property. I made a little garden, outhouse, wood shed, and workshop. I got tools off craigslist for cheap including furniture. Dumpster diving, salvation army, I even learned guitar and did cover songs at bars for $50 for 20 songs and learned crafts to sell at the farmer's market.
