I buried a snake under my white Mediterranean fig tree aprox 1 year ago, i just found big maggot grubs on the top soil after clearing away the spring clovers(weather is broken in California atm). Do i have something to worry about? My fig tree is 25+ years old and i'd hate to see grubs destroy its root system.

You saw beetle larvae, most likely chafers of some description. They were likely eating funguses or rotting root nodules near your tree and won't damage it. However, Beetles are crazy diverse and you could have just seen carrion beetle larvae that ate your very decayed snake.
How big were they?

smaller than an inch, but exactly like the larvae in the OP but the spots are white.

this is another one. Also, i found some small white mites in the soil. I took off the entire top layer of foliage and dug out all the clover roots,

FUCK
my entire town has always been infested with the cucksuckers on the right. This is very bad news for me. I'll probably miss this season of figs because i'll have to uproot and debug the soil.
A lot of grubs are edible.

Adam, is that you?

Larvae with legs are beetle legs.

The fig tree should be fine. I garden in California. These things are in almost every thing even little 1 gallon pots of plants. Nothing is really affected by them. And the fig tree would have no trouble bouncing back if you hack at it or chop of most of its roots.
Most of the ones here I see in my area are the larvae of figeater beetles.
