Best hiking boots?
>>645076
depends on weather
The best hiking boots are my hiking boots, all other boots are shit and if you disagree with me you're a basement dweller who never goes /out/
i got these
I've had luck with polartec.
Your shoes should be appropriate for the kind of environment you're going to be wearing them in and you should also be comfortable as well as durable. So don't go too cheap. Get yourself something that will last you a few years at least.
the ones that fit just right

This desu, I like my Hi-Tec Altitude IIIs, IVs or whatever version they are but I'd probably like other boots if I had them for 8 years with barely any wear.

Le meme boots
Hey /out
I just picked up a pair of haix tibet boots does anyone know if there good?
Why not sneakers/runners? Boots are too stiff/heavy and have too little ventilation for hot weather. I know boots are tougher but I've had decent runners last for 3+ years.

>Why not sneakers/runners?
No support, thin soles, not waterproof, low cut so you get burrs in your socks when you do even minor bushwhacking.. Only good for groomed trails. I know decent runners are slightly cheaper in the short term but I've had good boots last 15 years.

The stinky skank sluts I've drilled in the ass in that bed are waaay nastier than my Keens, you whiney, little virgin bitch!

Kind wondering, what's the difference between Salomon QUEST 4D 2 GTX and Salomon Quest 4D Gtx Forces. I'm considering buying one of them, unless anyone have any better suggestions. Price doesnt really matter,

In snow/mud : i like my meindls, but they are quite heavy.
Summer : cheap light trekking shoes that cost 15 euros (20 dollars).
>>647604
The meindls
>be me
>need snow/ice/rock boots
>autistic enough to need at least an 8" boot to feel comfortable about not getting snow in my boots
>bottom of my innawoods pants velcro tight but i still fear i'm gonna step and my boots gonna 'pop' out or something
>every boot i like is only 6" or less

>>647585
Not really sure the difference, but Solomon is a good brand. Super comfy and durable. I've had mine for three years with heavy use and they're still good to go
>>647676
Think of it as an artistic fusion of "cairn building and cache pooping".
And I had a couple of free minutes at work.
Plus, to stay on topic, muh boots!
> mfw what a glorious cairn I made, ahhhh...
>>647680
thanks, I've heard a lot of people complimenting Salomon, so considering buying a pair.
>>647604
i was thinking about getting these

Have Mid Salomons and Quest 4D's Amazing boots.
>>647585
i own these, as good as any salomon.
Anyone got any experience with Palladium boots? I bought a pair, it was the comfiest boot I wore EVER, but they lasted me less than half a year.
Is their quality always that shit?
>>647585
I hear 4D and 4D 2 fit the same. 4D 2 being slightly lighter.
I'm not aware of any differences besides colour, that doesn't mean there aren't any.
Also: the desert forces models don't have goretex.
>>649315
thanks man, decided to go for the 4D 2, will be interesting to try out.
Are Iron Rangers actually good boots for more than light out activities or should they be saved for the city?

Depends on many factors from what you're hiking on to how long to how big are your feet.
>>645076
most boots over $100 are going to be reasonably similar. More important is your choice of socks and layering and your insole if aftermarket.

You do realize I was kidding, right? Unless you're somewhere it matters, it doesn't matter. You won't be wearing jeans anywhere it matters.

I wear sneakers environment permitting. Rocky, muddy, and/or wet conditions call for boots.
