Preferred lantern?
EverReady or Coast headlamp.

The one you pictured.
I have many fond memories sitting around an old Coleman propane lantern. Sure it's not the greatest thing, but damn if it doesn't make me sentimental.
This too interests me. I prefer a headlamp or flashlight while alone but my GF has been nagging me to take her and her kid camping and I'm thinking that a nice little LED lantern might be just the thing I need.
I've had this sucker for years. Think I've changed the batteries on it once (4 D bats rated at 135 hours).
Recently took it (car) camping. It's not facemelting bright but it's more than enough to illuminate a camp area or the inside of a 4 person tent. Downside is it's pretty heavy.
it's cumpfy

Looks cozy as fuck.
Love a white gas coleman because no fuel canisters on trips.
For outages at home I have a propane version as well because I have a 30lb bottle and a refill adapter for the small bottles. They both take the same mantles.

I had one of these, loved it. Broke the glass globe and it wasn't worth a crap after that. I was also 12 at the time.
This thing's been serving me well.
UCO candle lantern

No. Flames are cosy.
'tactical' pocket flashlights worth looking into to add to EDC? camping gear?
Any particular brands to seek/avoid? Serrated/toothed bezel necessary/effective feature or just gimmick?
What modes, just low and high? Strobe, red-light?

The world is flat, if you don't think so, you are a heretic.
LED tech is the Devil's work and you must die.

I have to agree, she already made a mess of at least one mans life.

Luci light. why more people here aren't using this thing is beyond me. It's the cheapest, brightest, most compact, lightest, and longest lasting led lantern I have ever used.
i think i'll try one.

How does this make any sense

Yeah dating single moms is a pretty dumb move to make. They have commited themselves to poverty and will drag you down as well.
Does anyone else use emergency candles?

he means, sleep when it's dark, move when it's light.
>>632136
of course bro. coghlan's gotchoo covered there too

Just got one in the mail. Not able to vouch for it's battery life yet but the damn thing is awesome. Nice and bright, small, compactable.. The fact that it's solar vs batteries is just gravy.
>>632136
yeah candles are the best shit if you have to make fire in wet conditions. they are easy and safe to store and transport unlike liquid accelerants. even crushed they work wonders. can be used to seal up stuff of coat blades in a pinch.
>>632136
no. seems like a great way to burn down your tent / shelter / the forest.

Spoiler: battery life is great and it only needs a 6 hour charge time. Only thing missing is a true strobe mode.
