Puts good effort into video production, informative as fuck, some people can't get past his accent but I don't mind it. Also has a sweet /out/ job.

the thing that sets Alfie apart, for me, is that he doesn't continue to fucking waffle after he's made he's point. it's so rare in the survival/bushcraft video community. maybe the rest of them just love the sound of their own voices or something.

he does give a lot of good info, but I find the soft spoken tone, and mannerisms are very inline with someone trying to be a younger clone of RM

fair play he does get out and do stuff, but since he's developed a bigger fan bas I feel it's gone to his head now- sadly this is a trap a lot of folk fall into- just look what it did to 'survival lilly' it's every damn week now she's shiling some new torch.

I like Alfie too, but he's a bit pretentious. He might well know his shit when it comes to 'shrooms, but for the most part I feel the dialogues he uses in his vids are the result of trying to gargle with a dictionary whist jerking off over an open thesaurus

DC has some good stuff, now he's gone though a total re branding from jar head to mountain man after the discovery channel clusterfuck. I find what he does now a lot more focused, and in a real sense practical- now he's out to build stuff and preserve, and develop skillsets, not just yahoo! off into the woods with a sharp teaspoon and some bankline to kill some critters for a hillbilly bbq

I dont think he is pretentious. He just sounds to me like someone that wants to apply some of that undergrad science knowledge to some practical thing.
I don't feel he is trying to gloat about how smart he is. When you are able to find a purpose for what you learn, it's exciting and contagious. I think having that deeper rooted knowledge makes talking specific things in the outdoors much more interesting.
To me, I think he just wants to spread around knowledge because he genuinely finds what he learned at school interesting.
I think its kinda like Feynman, although Im not trying to say Alfie is anyway like Feynman except for the genuine interest and wanting to teach or talk about it.
Again, Alfie is no Feynman,I just couldn't think of someone else, but I don't think he is pretentious. I have the same feelings.
