The complex puzzle caches can be interesting and challenging and the historic ones can be informative and educational.

The 1000 upon 1000 of micro caches hidden in your local McDonalds car park are stupid as fuck but you gotta take the good with the bad.

You also need the permission of the park rangers to put one in any kind of national park or forest and they check the app nowadays to see if any got through the screening without proper permissions, I think the park rangers have a better grasp on what is acceptable and what is trash than some autistic faggot on a Himalayan tree climbing forum.

It doesn't really matter though because the people who would destroy or shit in geocaches are so autistic there is small chance of them venturing too far off the beaten path in order to find any of the good ones anyway. So keep at it guess autismo.

you're going about it wrong though. We can see the stuff on the surface, you know. If you actually want to fuck with detectorists you need to bury the metal at least a little bit. I mean, if you're really dedicated just go around burying pennies or foil 6-8 inches deep all over the place.

It's probably not going to really piss us off though because a lot of us do this ourselves. I carry a pocket full of pull tabs and pennies I found and I drop one in every hole I dig. That way the next guy to come along will know I've already searched that area. Because it's not normal to find a new penny or a pull tab that deep most places.

I don't know, I don't think you can actually fuck with a metal detectorist much. If we don't like what we're finding we'll just go somewhere else.
