Post pictures of interesting places you have explored in the Zone, and any artifacts you've found along the way.
Stalkers have been here before me!
Look at these pipes. If you listen closely, you can still hear the echoes of the pain and suffering that happened in this place.
Look at this artifact I found. Fireball, no?
only found some very common ones. they are called Moras. also found a couple of Bics
they dont sell for much but at least i will have sausage tonight
we're gonna have to cut you open and tinker with your ticker
Many, many buildings. I'd say at least 50 structures. Asbestos anomalies everywhere
Maybe one of the mythical X labs? Imagine what dwells down there~
The worst part about Asbestos anomalies is that they don't even yield any artifacts.
Look at this tunnel! It leads to a bloodsucker lair.
God damn it OP now you got me wanting to play C.O.P. all over again.
But here's an old pic I took a long time ago.
Here's another one I had to crop because the original is like 10MB lol
It wasn't too deep underground. I ran into a couple of snorks and saw what could have been a lair down there, but nothing more serious.
Ahh, Pripyat is always calling me. The Zone is constantly in the back of my mind, impossible for me to ignore. Some men long for it like water in the cruel desert of everyday life. If you have to ask why, you'll never know.
I knew there were more STALKERS on here!
Tell me, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.S, have any of you found more interesting artifacts?
Greeting bro's, I managed to get a pic of this lovely sunset out in the Zone a few days ago.
Didn't get any artifacts but managed to salvage the ignition coil from the car. I plan to try and build some kind of electric fence to keep critters away from the base at night.
Before camera phones were the norm I looked around a few places in Ma. Good times. I found a coyote den in an old factory in eastern mass, piles of bones everywhere. Scared the hell out of everyone. No human stuff, lots of cats, dogs and deer bones, shit in huge piles. Those fuckers kill a lot of stuff. No pics I'm afraid, I used a Polaroid at the time.
Electric fences should definitley keep the dogs away. I'm not so sure about more horrific creatures that reside in the Zone.
What a byootifuhl suhnseht. That's what the Zone is all about.
Don't forget to get yourself a protective suit, comrades.
>Or in this case, gear. :)
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is a coded acronym, literally: Scavenger, Trespasser, Adventurer, Loner, Killer, Explorer, and Robber.
Think a modern, gritty Indiana Jones in a radioactive, actively hostile wasteland that is bit Innawoods and Borderlands at the same time (sort of).
As for this thread, it pertains mostly to Urban/Rural Exploration, mainly of abandoned structures, as this is a prominent activity in the actual S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game.
Quite fun, really. You might consider trying it sometime. :)
Hmm, looks more like a Night Star, actually.
For Shadow of Chernobyl, it grants +5 Bulletproofing at the cost of +5 Radiation.
In Clear Sky, it raises carrying capacity by 10 kg at the cost of +1 Radiation.
In Call of Pripyat, it grants a +4 kg to carrying capacity at the cost of +1 Radiation.
Also, between ShoC and Clear Sky it had a model change, and became a glowing, many-quilled sphere.
This wonderful artifact is formed by the Springboard anomaly. The use of the artifact demands the neutralization of deadly radiation. Expensive and rare, this artifact is extremely interesting for scientific expeditions and other research activity in the Zone.
This is a rare artifact. It is possible to find at least one of these artifacts on the edges of Agroprom, however these areas have very high radiation levels. Baldy will reward the player with this artifact after completing his mission Kill the traitor. Several Night Stars can be found near the Monolith "sculpture" in Pripyat, and more can be found at the Chernobyl NPP.
The Night Star can be sold for a disappointing 3250 Ru (Sakharov gives 5000 Ru).
Hope this helps. Pic related, ShoC inventory icon for the Night Star artifact.
Model comparisons between ShoC and the sequels CS and CoP.
Questionguy here. Thanks, that's the best answer I've gotten for this question so far. I'm not a gamer, so I didn't know there was a video game, but im into urbex, so yeah I can relate.
Well, they are raging assholes that only care about getting to the center of the zone because it will mean more black market trade, so yeah.
I'm pleased to hear that, and I'm glad I could help.
Forgot to put my name on the the above posts.
I'm Aurious. Nice to meet you all. :)
I have been since the film and the game calling "stalker" to the old machinery swallen by the plants, or rusty industrial places; I dont have my OC now but I will share. I am so glad there is people with the same idea (not that I thougth I was original) and taste, and even the wording
Welcome brother. Have you found any artifacts in your travels? :)
evening fellow stalker!
those pictures are from a old religious school not far from where i live
I came back a few week later and those windows been broke down complety now
You're too right. Even after what happened with Strelok. Bastards.
Pleased to meet you, Aurious. (OP, by the way)
Likewise; the feeling is mutual, brother. :)
I see now the zone for it is it
I didnt dare to get so near, I searched for humid artifacts further away the core
the air was foggy, though there was a low eerie brigthness that looked like light exuding from within all the things
the path was uncertain, and there were ruins built menago,.. in the near camp are often told stories of strange sounds that are heard and light sprites that are seen around the area; hence why I decided to wander the place.
I discovered these ruins were constructed by the prisoners of the losing band of a war against oppression, and the force of those men still manate from the rocks leading to the formation of rarely seen artifacts
Only the crows know now what they did to them at LabX27.
I had no luck today either. Near the area there are places often transited by scavengers, who do not dare to get near the damn due to the spooky tales that are told. Finally I went down there avid as I knew I could set my hands on many badly placed stashes
I also found an abandoned storehouse filled with spare parts for my torch and many other potential uses
So, who here has actually done one of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. challenges?
Would you happen to have any more of these?
Not Russia, this is Ukraine, a little place called Pripyat. You may recognize the famous swimming pool and the nuclearish powerplantish structure on the horizon in the last photo, here's a close up of that one.
Also yes it was horrible, lots of mutants and homeless bandits!
I think Prypiat isnt a known city for common people and I can understand that. Chernobyli is a different thing...
I hope you can feel the atmosphere bro, thx
I understand now what was saib above aout /k and Stalker joints...
My wander got my feet todaylooking for artifacts again. I had more luck, as you will see. I wanted to go up the river, but I had to go through a highly radioactive forest whose name was long ago lost. You can see the mutant effects of the radiation in the trees that survived the Event
There on my way, deep inside the forest, I found a clean and safe place where I could quit my radiation suit and had some sausages. Stalker were recently there because I found no leaf artifacts and they are often seen in places like this
When I finally arrived to the waters, the level of radiation were skyrocketing so I had little time to search and scavenge. I didnt need much though, several spark artifacts were laying in the bottom of the river like they were expecting me...
I was able to take a photo of the artifacts in their natural state. You must excuse the quality of the photos, radioactivity affected my instruments all day long and many went crazy, like my pda and the camera lense... I too feel a bit dizzy and I forgot to attach the photo...
Going out of the place, some vortex anomalies obliged me to make a detour through an area I had never visited before.. I found another lab, and a little scorcher. I can feel in my ghost the activities going inside must be related with the increasing anomalies/radioactivity in the area lately...
I will investigate, but today I was low on ammo and weapons as I expected to find many artifacts and filled my backup with just the elementary things for survival (medkits and radiation pills mostly). When I arrived to the camp, Jakucha and me used some of the spark artifacts I found to dress the vodka in a manner he learnt from another stalker
We will keep on exploring next day
I just downloaded the trilogy. Unfortunately i could not get the first one working with wine and am wondering if skipping the first one would be ok story-wise or if i should go back and try to get it working.
I really think SoC should be played first else it would feel less unfilling (imo), CS doesnt add much but it is still good. CoP is as good as SoC: My suggestion would be release order SoC<CS<CoP. But it doesnt really matter, I hope you enjoy the Zone!
Nightmarers can be though brother, I know they wont get you ack from keeping exploring. I once found an old photo of an atomic explosions in one of the labs (C23 I think), have it
