I'm most proud of doing this day hike. Good lord, it hurt. Got rained on the entire day. This is in Westfir/Oakridge Oregon and I hiked this in March.
Took me the entire day from morning to night. Orange loop is the hike.
The whole area has a metric dickload of good trails.

I usually try not to cram too much distance or altitude into day hikes. Gives me more time to savor the view or check out side paths.
Just did Kratka Ridge and Bighorn Mine in the San Gabriels. So short that you could easily do both in the same day, but the point was to explore the old abandoned structures and the mine, not to cover distance.

I switch it up, sometimes I do distance, sometimes I do scenery.
