First time going camping. What kind of essentials do I need. I already have a list, but I'd appreciate it if you would post some of the things you guys bring. Most importantly I've been having a hard time choosing a backpack to buy.

>first time going camping

What kind of camping? How are you getting to your campsite? How many people are going with you? How long are you going to be out?

Really need some extra parameters here before we can give you useful advice.

That being said I'm very partial to the Ospray Atmos backpack. If you're only going to be doing weekends in summer it's plenty big.

>What kind of camping?
I didnt know there were different kinds. Stationary?
>How are you getting to your campsite?
My father and I are going together so I guess with a car and decent walk.
>How many people are going with you?
My father and I, but I would like to start going alone after a good number of camping trips with him.
>How long are you going to be out?
At most two nights.
>Really need some extra parameters here before we can give you useful advice.
I hope I helped

Tent, sleeping bag, more water than you think, three pairs of good socks, dryer lint, grill lighter
>>
Best backpack advice I can give is get one in person and try several on.
Backpacks are like hiking boots - you shouldn't fuck around with buying one online unless you've tried the exact one you are buying IRL
