A well-done fairy door takes a lot more skill and planning/commitment than just stacking a bunch of rocks into a cairn does, though. I say that if someone goes to the trouble of crafting a pretty door and placing it in a sensible spot, we should respect their effort.

I agree with this anon, I grew up in alaska so outdoor opportunities were more than ample but I had an affinity for these things. I remember building them with what kid-me called witches beard (anybody know what I'm talking about?)

I think theyre ok on private property or real close to the urban interface, so long as therearent just dozens of them blatantly and ridiculously placed everywhere. Keep em outta the true wilderness.
