Hi /out/ I'm planning on doing a walk from one end of Argentina in Salta, to the other in Rio Gallegos in about a month. Any anons here done such a walk or something similar? What kind of equipment should I bring with me to make it the most pleasant experience possible? Any general advice? I've done the Camino way before so I do have a bit of trekking experience under my belt. Thanks in advance.

El Camino is a walk in the park compared to that trek, son. I hope you know what you're doing.

According to our Lord and Master Google, that's about 3,000 kilometers. I hope you've put in some serious prior planning.

Sorry to derail your thread but I would like to hear more on this? Where did you start? Did you do it solo? What was your total cost? Thanks.

Not him, but I did the Camino a few years ago. It costs about $15-20 a day. Maybe $8 for lodging and the rest spent on wine, beer and food.

For the distance you're walking, get a small handcart, you'll need it way more than a backpack.
