Has anyone tried these Savage Gear Lily Ninja lures? They seem to be a Dicks/Field & Stream "exclusive". They had them buy one get one 50% off so I figured about $8 for a mouse and a frog wasn't too bad, even if they aren't that great.

I've had such a shit year for fishing lel. Caught one big bass and little else. Hopefully in the fall the trout will be biting more.

Opinions on Abu Garcia Veritas rods? I like the price point.

You can find them. Especially a bigger place like Cabelas. But it's always easier to find the best selection of all of them online.

Same goes for odd sizes of rods and reels. Like many 1500-2500 sizes, bigger than UL but lighter than M. Hard to find in stores unless the selection is really good.

Seeing as this is the fishing and tackle thread and all, I'm more interested in the fish and tackle parts of the picture.

I've started catching bass and channel catfish on lighter tackle. Pretty fun so far. Smaller fish are pretty fun, but catching a decent keeper makes you feel like you got a big fish and a legit big one is like a whale.

I finally tried those eels you got me for the secret Santa thing we did. I cut about a third of the tail off because it was just way too long and I wasn't getting hook ups but they actually got consistent bites all morning. They've got a really nice wriggling action in the water, I may actually buy some more if I can find smaller ones.
