I live near the mobile delta in Lower Alabama. It fucking sucks out here, especially for a camper. There are barely any backpacking sites out here, and they're all awful. Not to mention there's not much to see. I like to go with my gf, and she's not into any sort of illegal camping, so that's out of the question. Do you guys know a good method to finding reliable backpacking sites outside the state park, and privately owned camp sites. Especially places were I won't get shot by a drunk hunter, or be bothered by humanity in general.

I'm in middle Delaware, any tips for around here? Don't mind driving a couple hours. I want to be able to start a controlled campfire, although it's not a deal breaker. And I'd like enough seclusion to light up.
