I'd go the same route, set up camp near the lake and try to make some sort of a shack, make parangals for fishing because the places they get are literally teeming with all sorts of fish.

it's extremely humid almost every other day rains and it's cold. even people with proper shelter gave up and quit because the humidity fucked up their shit. the only place you can stay relatively dry and mold free (it will eat all of your organic shit and fuck up your lungs) if you stay on the beach out of the woods. now the thing is aside from not having trees there to hang your hammock is it's very windy and even colder.

so no forget the hammock if you want to live. it's okay for temperate woodlands in the summer and maybe you can do spring and autumn too, but not in an arboreal rainforest.

Idk where the fuck you anons are using these damn ground tarps but ive used one 4 times. Twice woke up with a rat in my shit (once on my neck) and another time had a skunk inside with me, crawled right under the parameter. Say what you will about a good old fashion tent but the barrier on the bottom does a decent job.

I have a lot of friends who live in the wild not too far from here, off-grid.. Sleep and live with much less than anyone here has often.. I've done so myself for months on end.
