So which state does /out/ consider to be good for hiking?
>>
>>1055838
Well, probably 80% of states have great hiking in one part or another. I'm partial to New Hampshire, Maine and Massachusetts, but I am from New ENgland orginally.
>>
>>1055838
Anything not in deep south
>>
>>1057029
Illinois here. This is falsehood.
>>
All of them. Yes, even that one.
>>
>>1055838
>that image
Go back to /b/ and ask them
>>
>>1055838
I've lived in Idaho for a few months now and love it, too bad I gotta go back to Ohio soon
>>
It boils down to more about where in what state if you're asking about where to live. Every state has good hiking.
>>
>>1057047
illinois is not the deep south, kyou fucking idiot
>>
>>1055838
Well, I'm in Indiana and I think we've got decent hiking. I personally go to state parks (turkey run, mccormick's creek) and recreation areas (lieber, cataract falls) for trail hiking, or hoosier national forest for primitive hiking. Indiana always ranks a zero or one on a scale of one to ten in the "rate the states for /out/ activities" threads. You can hike anyfuckingwhere.
>>
Arizona has a lot of good places. Only come here in the winter though.
>>
East coast pretty much sucks
Cali is top tier
WA is pretty great too
>>
>>1057029
Arkansas here. This is false for here and Missouri
>>
>>1057163
Need me to hold your hand through this, champ? Illinois is not deep south. Illinois does not have good hiking. ∴ there is not good hiking anywhere but the deep south.

This. Just returned from doing 20 miles in lost cove wilderness. Pisgah, wilson creek, linville gorge and nantahala are all great for hiking. Most of NC west of I77 is prime /out/ real estate

Muh nigga. Southern Indiana is great for hiking, and North Eastern Indiana is great for kayacking. It's down right criminal that we're not ranked higher in state ratings. We may not be the best, but we're far away from being the worst for /out/ activities. We have good gun laws too for my fellow /k/omrades.

As a Mainer, I can safely say the vast majority of our mountains are pretty beginner tier. But it's perfect for kids/scouts/ families.

If you want to see buildings and powerlines everywhere you go, and never being farther than 15 minutes from a convenience store yeah NC is great for hiking.
>>
>>1057174
fellow Hoosier fag here. Indiana is great, no mountains, but we got plenty of wilderness. Turkey Run is beautiful, went there like 9 times on field trips. every /out/ person should Google turkey run and just look. lake Salamonie is also based.
