Mini Maglite because Maglica was my fellow countryman>>1055563
and the quality is pretty good for the price.

even if it's not a led maglite? this one xenon
>>
Maglites were great in the '90s, but LEDs made them obsolete. Dorcy is cheap but adequate shit you keep in your kitchen drawer or glove compartment just in case.

Just EDC your phone and use your Fenix when you need a pocket searchlight like everyone else.

2nding Fenix.

I'm not one of those EDC types, but I love the Fenix E12 so much, and it's just so small and pocket friendly that I usually find myself taking it everywhere just because its so good.

For camping use low mode is fine, it comes on in low (unlike those stupid tacticool ebay lights that come on in TURBO mode and kill your nightvision). Low lasts 10s of hours. Medium is bright enough for any camping and lasts several hours.

High mode isn't that much brighter than medium to my eye but its there if you want it, lasts over an hour also I believe.
>>
I like my mini maglite, the torch feature is useful for night visibility and the flashlight is solid enough that it doubles as a fish bonker
>>
>>1055562
>do you edc it?
If I think there's even a remote chance I'll be out at night, I bring my Streamlight Stylus Pro. Otherwise I just have a cutie little flashlight on my keyring.

I actually EDC my mini maglite, put it on a carabiner. I work construction (graveyard shift) so I got used to taking it everywhere on a carabiner. always comes in handy

zebralight h600w mk ii

1000 or 0,1 lumens if you need it, durable enough to survive the end of the world, 18650 is the shit, nice headband, handy as a flashlight too

ive swam in the dark with it on my head, shit's awesome.

EDC is a sturdy fenix LD20, best thing since sliced bread.

I keep a Maglite 3D LED in my truck and just ordered a Fenix to carry around in my pocket. Mostly get by with a little Black Diamond headlamp when /out/.

Got two of these little fuckers for 1€ each on amazon.
Bright as fuck (5000 Lumen), waterproof, 3 different modes (bright, dimmed and strobe), zoomable and just needs an AA battery. Have one in my BoB and one for EDC.
Just checked and they now go for double the price...
>>
got a Fenix hl50 i take if i plan any kind a trip.
but i dont have a real edc /key chain/ pocket light yet. still not sure what to buy (its basicly a toy as a phone with work for most day to day shit).

i also have a petzl PIXA 3, but i use it rarely.
Petzl e+LITE in my first aid kit as pack up n trips

>>1055562
unrelated question did maglite miss the wagon with the LED trend ? at least in germany they used to be famous but now are considered garbage.
>>
>>1055744
Another vote for Fenix. Although I dont EDC, I have several Fenix flashlights at home, in the car and jacket pockets.

I have two E12 and can confirm it's a great flashlight. 3 settings and no memory which is great. It starts with low and you can decide if you need more light. The older E11 is not as good, but it has superior tail cap switch.

The most useful has been the HL50 headlamp. Vote for headlamps also.

As a rule I only buy flashlights that take AA eneloops. My most powerful flashlight has some 200 lumens on highest setting, which is more than I need.

For /out/ use only, I have two Fenix E05's with lithium AAA batteries as backup & backup of backup. With lithiums they weight practically nothing.

Zero problems so far since 2012. Ok, once the headlamp didn't work, but it had a dead battery.

>>1057548
>1€ each on amazon.
>BoB
This can be just as reliable and long lasting as a 20€ light from a reputable company, but chances are it's not. A flashlight is one of the most important items in your BoB.

>>1057561
>did maglite miss the wagon
Yes they did. Textbook example of bad company management.
>>
>>1057595
>A flashlight is one of the most important items in your BoB.

Right, thats why i also have reliable headlamp and dozens of glowsticks apart from another flashlight.
>>
>>1057561
maglite does have new led flashlite, but the stores dont have those here, and shipping if i buy them online its way too expensive
>>
streamlights are good but cost a lot compared to other flashlights and burn through batteries. I have a streamlight headlamp and a normal one and they are very bright
>>
>>1055562
Streamlight makes some really good small flashlights with a lifetime warranty. Batteries Plus sells them around here (WNC). I think they cost a little more than a maglite but I've got both and have not bought a maglite since I discovered Streamlight.
>>
>>1055562
What is not made in China?
I want that one. No seriously, seems all good led edc flashlights are from china.

I have bought fantastic flash lights from Aldi. Very cheap. Cree led . Crazy bright and very good on battery power

Here is one I bought for 10 euro the other day
>>
I've got a big led lantern, n oil lantern and a military flashlight. guess tats all i need for now. the led lantern will just about light up a room like a normal light.
>>
>>1055562

Maglites are okay, but VERY over priced. You can pick up equally good off-brand clones for a quarter the price.
>>
>>1058481
Maglite makes LED lights. They're decent. Some Petzl headlamps are made in France, I think. Chances are many of the components and materials still come from PRC
>>
>>1055988
Have one - it's fuckin' tiny, but definitely a fair amount of brightness. Feels like it's bombproof.
>>
>>1057548
>AA battery
>5000 lumens
No.

OP, I've caried a Olight R20 every day for two years. It's indestructible, I only have to charge it once every few months, and it's REALLY bright (600 lumens throws to 200 meters). It's small enough that it's easy to hold in your hand or mouth, and it's not a pain to carry in your pockets.

cheap china solar AND crank flashlight, it's rain proof and sturdy for plastic.

I fucking love this thing and bought three of them. I'll buy another two for the future, because I just don't want another flashlight anymore.
>>
Anyone ever use the energizer hardcase bravo? I found one for 45 bucks and it's nice looking, I'm torn between that one and streamlight polytac 90.

I pretty much wanted a light to fit in the strap on my backpack for a forward facing light while working or hiking - but I really don't like headlamps.
>>
>>1055988
I have a copper body one. I fucking love it, its small, handy and can get pretty bright for a short time if you need it. Definitely worth the purchase i think.
>>
I have a lot of extra of high-drain 18650 cells, what's a good option for something that fits in your pocket? I don't mind paying up if there's a significant difference in quality over some Amazon special.
