Anyone have experience with these things?
It is AFAIK basically (correct me if I am wrong) a big rainproof and windproof poncho.
I have the Original version.
It's a tarp (fjellduk = mountain tarp) that is wind and water proof. It has aluminium on one side so it reflects heat and can be used as a survival blanket. There are also zippers on the side and grommets so you can configure it in different ways and use it for different things. It also has holes for your arms so you can use it as a poncho. Personally I don't use it as poncho, I normally use it either as blanket or as tarp, but it's a pretty versatile item that can be used for many things.
There are more expensive versions than the Original, they have insulation and are bigger and warmer. Some of them can even be used as sleeping bags if it's not very cold.

And I forgot to mention, the tarp come with two separate sleeves that you can use when wearing it as a poncho. The sleeves are not attached to the tarp itself.
